SENATORS DEAL LALIME TO BLUES
RALEIGH, N.C. (CP) - The Ottawa Senators traded goaltender Patrick Lalime to the St. Louis Blues for a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2005 at the NHL draft Sunday, clearing the way for the Senators to sign Dominik Hasek.
Lalime, 29, was to become a restricted free agent at midnight Wednesday and the Senators would have had to make a qualifying offer of $2.575 million US to retain his rights.
