With the trade deadline looming and Montreal one of the teams on the outside looking to get in i'd be very surprised if Andre Savard does not make some sort of a move to try and improve the team. Philadelphia is one team that is said not to be doen their wheeling and dealing. Philly is looking for defensemen, as are we so they might not be a good partner... although they have past experience with Karl Dykhuis and we've recently been trade partners... any chance they might look our way? doubt it.
Cash strapped Buffalo Sabres and Florida Panthers will be looking to offload some contracts as their playoff hopes are quickly turning into fantasy. Names Sergei Zholtok and Igor Ulanov come to mind that might be of great assistance to our team, Zholtok would likely take quite a bit to get at, but the aging Ulanov might be a nice rental to replace Traverse until seasons end?
High profile players on the block that are likely to be moved before the deadline are of the likes of Owen Nolan, Miro Satan, Ray Whitney, Aaron Miller, Brian Smolinski and others
Almost the entire Carolina Hurricanes roster seems to be available, and moves are said to be on the way... Names that might interest Habs brass could be Battaglia, O'Neill, A Ward, and S Hill.
What team(s) do you see the Habs dealing with if at all? and What players would you think AS will be most interested? That is if he is a buyer and not a seller...

why would Philly need a D
Weinrich Johnnson Therrien Desjardins Ragnarsson Seidenberg Vandeermeer
+top prospects Wowytka and Pitkanen coming up...
I'd love to get Bataglia. Seems like the kind of player Habs need.

I don't think pat like Brisebois. Wasn't he the one who said that Brisebois was a lot like #44(Stéphane Richer) mentally.

Brisebois+McKay would mean Habs have to take a bad contract off NJ's hands...

This is not a trade rumor but a mere 'what if' scenario. During last night's Avs-Nucks game Saint Patrick suffered a slight knee injury, not serious and he played with it. What if Roy did get seriously injured? Lacroix is always thinking Cup, would he come looking for one of our gems? With Patty moving on in age it would be in Lacroix's best interest to grab a long term goalie, I can't see him settling for an Irbe or whatever at this point. Having watched both Theo and Garon on many occasions in Junior, I believe that they are almost equal. We would certainly be holding the aces, but this time he would pay the proper price. Just food for thought.
