...the hell with the bum... He can stay in hockey hot bed Tampa Bay forever but I'll bet you that his millions won't be enough to shut up the voice inside of him that wonders why he sold his childhood dream to play for an expansion team with no history that don't even sell out in friggin Stanley Cup finals...
...what a fool...
Next time we do a Stanley cup parade on Ste-Catherine he'll look at it rather than be in it...
I hope Vinny the Prince of Tampa gets booed a plenty the next time he lays a skate in the Bell Center... Oh, and Komi or Sheldon, please make sure you stamp his weasel face in the glass, thank you.
...BTW Vinny, I hope you have a nice 4 years with your good buddy Tortorella, you just know how much he likes ya don't you, stripping you of your "C" and sticking you on checking lines... Criticizes and humiliates you in the media... Always treated like a true king in Tampa hey... I'm sure he'll treat you nice and be all patient when you'll slump with that franchise player contract... Ah!
Feaster wants to be known as the guy that kept Vinny in Tampa above all, good for him, he'll also be known as the guy that dismantled his team to be able to afford to...
...phew...I had some steam to let out...

Doc, do you want to sign my "Tampa will miss the playoffs" petition? Yessire... where do I sign.... It will really be funny next summer when Tampa's real #1 guy and captain will be up for contract renewal under a decreasing cap...

Feaster wants to be known as the guy that kept Vinny in Tampa above all, good for him, he'll also be known as the guy that dismantled his team to be able to afford to. I just don't know how Feaster can give that much money to Vinny when he still has St. Louis to sign. Also, Brad Richards is earning $3.4M now. You can be sure that he's going to want Vinny type of money in his next contract. Richards has a better PPG in the regular season and playoffs than Vinny so there's no reason for him to earn less. St. Louis was this year's Art Ross, Hart and Lester Pearson winner. How many people here think that he's going to be signed for less than Lecavalier? On this board, we were discussing $5.5M for Vinny and that seemed to be a reasonable amount. I don't know why Feaster went ahead and offered him "franchise player" type money when Vinny hasn't put up "franchise player" type stats. IMO, Jay Feaster just threw his whole salary structure out of whack.

St. Louis unsigned, #1 in the NHL in scoring Stillman #8 in the NHL in scoring Richards #10 in the NHL in scoring Lecavalier not in the top 20 in scoring Modin 29 goals and 57 pts Andreychuck 21 goals 39 pts Fedotenko 17 goals 39 pts Kubina 17 goals 35 pts. They have a lot of great players and can't keep them all. If Gainey keeps some room under the cap he can pick up some real TB surplus. One guy on the Tampa farm that I liked is Nikita Alexeev. He hasn't lived up to expectations when he was drafted 8th overall and will never be a scorer, but he is 6'5" 225lbs. skates like the wind and is defensively aware. Could be a Gainey style defensive forward. If he becomes surplus to Tampa's plans, Jarvis could bring him along. Uncle Fester has little room under his cap. They built a team and may see it come apart.

I can't wait for a playoff rematch with Tampa. It'll be in our favour next time.
