as had been rumoured (before the TO rumour) . . . Perreault coming to Preds' camp Center Yanic Perreault has accepted a tryout invitation extended by the Nashville Predators and will attend the team's training camp, which opens Monday, Sept. 12. An 11-year NHL veteran with stints in Toronto, Los Angeles and Montreal, the 5-11, 185-pound native of Sherbrooke, Quebec is consistently among the league's best in the face-off circle. He has won over 60 percent of his draws in each of the last five seasons and has amassed career totals of 195 goals and 212 assists for 407 points in 671 NHL games. Preds site

I wish him well . . . liked him; hated his work ethic.

I wish him the best of luck.
I always liked Yanic, he loved being a Hab, and he did score us some pretty goals.

I'm happy for Yanic.... I even happier for the Habs. Yeah, I think that's exactly how I feel... He didn't complain even if he was being scratched or saw his ice time diminish like snow in spring. But I'm glad the Habs don't need such players anymore. His defense was ugly and he's quite slow. Exept for his scoring instinct and his face-off skills, he doesn't bring much to the table. But as I said, he never complained, so I hope he does well... elsewhere.

except for his scoring instinct.....he scored some very important goals in the playoffs for us - for someone that slow he always managed to find a spot to shoot from ...

Funny how some guys leave the hab's and everybody wishes them well in their new digs.
Malakov, Czerkawski, Rucinsky, and Tucker don't exactly fall into that category.

Perreault just didn't fit in to the team we were going for. It's not that we didn't like him, it's just that we couldn't really use him. He seems to be fitting right in with the Preds, though. Good pick-up for them. He's always put up decent numbers wherever he's been.
