The roster looks awful, but maybe with fewer fatcats and a bit more humph with players looking to make it rather than sitting on their retirement contracts, they'll be a better *team* than we'd expect.

Balej's game was always about speed and skill, so either he hasn't progressed or else he came in expecting to make the cut and lost some of that drive. Whatever happened, this isn't the same Balej that we all missed the minute he was traded. Doesn't say much about Sather if he did pass on someone like Plekanec. He has been riding on his Oilers rep for years now.
