Les Capitals ou les Capitales de Québec ? None of this Nordiks or Nordicks business, please.
Bring it on!

Les Capitales de Québec sounds like another hotly contested rivalry. And, if it means not being able to get a seat in either a Montreal or Quebec pub on game night then I'll sign the petition as well.
We have the ghosts of the organization, the veteran presence, the history, et al, at every game. Imagine the opening night for les Capitales de Québec if we can.
I'd start it off right by retiring some numbers. If the Nords haven't already done it, retire Marc Tardiff's number. Check out his career stats with the Nords and you'll see why.
I agree guys. Bring 'em back.
Cheers

The Quebec Bulldogs or Les Bulldogs de Quebec. Bilingual + a real team who actually won the Stanley cup twice in 1911 and in 1912 (before the NHL) Stanley! its so tiny!

It would probably be more expensive to keep a team like the Nordiques in tact with extra taxes in Quebec as opposed to what the current owner of the Caps has to pay. I don't know how likely this sounds.
But while we're at it, let's bring the Jets back, too.

While I love seeing the chart, it doesn't tell the whole story. Average ticket price has to be factored in as Toronto has far greater revenue than the sold out Habs. Taxes, parking, licensing, luxury box, concession and TV/radio revenue have to be included too. Quebec had good record of attendance, but their overall revenue was dismal. I did love to hate them!

The Capitals move to Quebec?
That would be a nice twist of irony. Washington takes Quebec's baseball team... Quebec returns the favour by stealing Washington's hockey team.

But while we're at it, let's bring the Jets back, too. If we're dreaming, I lived in Saskatoon during the "St. Louis is moving" years and Don Cherry's Saksatoon has the Blues fever (maybe that's why I like him). With St. Lou in trouble again (less that 10,000 in attendance tonight/smallest crowd of the NHL season) . . .

I'd start it off right by retiring some numbers. If the Nords haven't already done it, retire Marc Tardiff's number. Check out his career stats with the Nords and you'll see why. Add Réal Cloutier, Alain Coté, Michel Goulet, Joe Sakic, Anton and Peter Statsny, as worthy candidates. And to rub salt in the wound—Réjean Houle.

...the big brass in the PQ is not connected to this type of thing and pro sports franchise need private funds and dynamic owners. The Nords got sold despite NEVER producing a loss, the most storied franchise in hockey didn't generate any local interest and had to be sold to an American (and financed with our own public funds), the Expos, well, enough said.
...and if by some miracle, an American decides to take a look at the possibility of landing an NHL franchise in the city of Quebec, the municipality and government would put so many hurdles and conditions in the construction project of a new NHL level forum, that he would be a total loon not to target another US cities instead that would welcom him with all the facilities and arrangements he'd want.
Sorry to be the hoser, but I don't believe in it one single second. You can put a million virutal signature on that thing, it would change nothing.

Try offering Theodore a 50% pay cut along with a 50% increase in signatures and see how long he thinks about signing!

8500 in Buffalo last night. Hey, even old, uncomfortable European arenas get more people than that. But Bettman seems confident that earnings will go up...
