Just perusing a "Leaf board"....and the ignorance of their own team's history (and their willingness to demonstrate that ignorance) is quite humorous to me.
Prime example: In response to Don Cherry's statement that the Leafs miss Roberts' and Nieuwendyk's leadership, a fan wrote (speaking of age):
"Well, I guess Keon and Pulford played great for the Leafs in '67."
Ahem....Keon was 27 and Pulford was 31. Not even close to Nieuwendyk and Roberts (both at 39).
To get close to their age on the Leafs of '67, you'd have to go to Red Kelly (40), Tim Horton (37), Allan Stanley (41), Johnny Bower (41), Terry Sawchuk (37), Marcel Pronovost (36), and George Armstrong (36).
***What Leaf fans should be really excited about is that Ed Belfour is 40....pretty much prime age for Leafs' Cup-winning goalies.
(By the way, I know this would be more fun to post on that Leaf board...but I don't want to join.)
