I heard this tonight, and I couldn't believe it.
A contingent of league officials will be going to Chicago to go over the new rules with the Black Hawks as they are the most penalized team in the league.
If this is true, it's ridiculous. They're professional athletes with professional coaches. If they keep slipping off the learning curve, tough luck....perhaps their high draft pick can help them learn next season.

Maybe Yawney should pull a Quinn and whine and complain about the reffing . . . seems to work for him every stinking year! I'm starting to think that it'd be worth the fine that CJ would have to pay if he'd "besmirch the refs" following the next Leaf travesty.

One must judge a coach's remarks in this area by the size of his wallet. As Julien has said on at least a couple of occasions, when goaded after games by reporters to comment on the night's officiating, "I'm sorry but I can't afford to answer your question." Hmmm, maybe Gainey can insert some sort of "bonus" clause into Coach's contract to help mitigate the surtax on those kinds of comments.

I think the effect we are looking for would best be done if Gainey himself sounded off. Hey it worked for the Boo Birds!!
