I was watching the Buffalo Sabres play and I noticed the arena is named HSBC. It took an extensive internet search to find the source of those letters.

If CCM is Canadian Cycle and Motors;

What do the letters HSBC stand for?

Yeah, I know it's a bank, but it took international searching to discover the answer that seems to be closely guarded by the Red Chinese.

I had to look through all their London Plc and Canadian websites until I found it. I had heard of HSBC bank but didn't know what the letters stood for.

Thanks. I was thinking natural Hockey sponsors like Hudson Bay Company or HS Bank of Commerce and never thought of a Hong Kong Shangai connection.
