I doubt it very much.

I bet he misses his horses and probably didn't need the aggravation of being coach anymore.

...seems like Larry is having problem handling the stress of being a coach in NJ...
obviously coaching in Montreal's pressure cooker isn't up his alley.

The first thing that jumped at me when I read the article was whether or not he was actually alright. But, like you, I don't think coaching, perhaps anywhere, should be in his immediate future. What advice did Jean Beliveau give to Ronald Corey? "you only get one shot at life." Just hope he's alright and we should wish him well. Cheers.

All reports from Toronto say Robinson was suffering from "stress and horrible headaches".

All reports from Toronto say Robinson was suffering from "stress and horrible headaches". Being a coach for the Montréal Canadiens, in any capacity, ain't no cure for that.

I doubted it could be true. Didn't know anything about his stress/headache problem but I wish him the best.
Hopefully we'll see him again when his jersey is raised.

Maybe to visit, but nothing else. Robinson left the Kings and the Devils in mid season. He was a great defenseman, but that doesn't make him a great coach. The pressure in NJ is nothing compared to Montreal. Relax, play polo, spend your saved millions carefully and enjoy retirement.

uhhhhhhh, he can't handle the pressure cooker that is new jersey, a perfect cure is moving to montreal and coaching there. much less pressure, fans don't care, they're secondary behind the als and expos.
not a chance.

As an 8-game regular season and playoff fill-in. Nice guy . . . but cares too much. Be great to have him back in Habs-land but he won't be here as head coach.

Coaching a team through 4 rounds of the playoff pressure cooker is a difficult task. And he did it twice, getting the Devils to the finals in 2001. I can remember him making tough decisions like going with 5 D men during the 3rd period of a game late in the series against Toronto because Colin White wasn't performing. I thought it was a really gutsy move. They also climbed back from 3 - 1 down against Philly in the conference final. I'm not saying he should coach again - he probably should not. But he earned that Cup.

Fact of life. Nothing wrong with it. We all have different gifts, talents, adn abilities. LR seems to know his limitations, and I say good for him for having the mettle to say "enough is enough".

True. Makes you wonder how guys like Maurice, Ruff & Quinn have lasted so long. It seems like 4-5 years is the shelf life for a coach these days.
