Elias comes back and now Mogilny's on waivers.
Wonder who'll take him. 36 years old. $3.5 million. 12 goals, 13 assists, -7 in 34 games.

Well if New Jersey sent him down after clearing waivers and then tried to call him back up, the price tag would only be 1/2 of that total. Uh, still too much for a guy who might need a hip replacement before his contract expires.

And the Mogilny signing to a big contract knowing about the hip problems. He also had to dump Friesen for a draft pick to fit everything under the cap. Makes me wonder if Lou is losing it - just a little.

Apparently, with Moginly being over 35 his salary still counts towards the cap even if he's playing in the minors.
Lou must hope someone will pick him up, otherwise he might choose to call him up, so that someone takes at least half his salary from his cap.
Even then I wouldn't want us to get him, because we'd still be stuck with him at his full salary next year.
