The U.S. hit a hot goalie, Kim Martin....who knew someone playing that well in that position could make the difference? I heard their captain interviewed after the game, and she said even though they were down 2-0 they knew their goalie was keeping them in the game....if they could just get one, it would shake up the States. It certainly did. This must be absolutely huge in Sweden....their coach said his favorite movie is "Miracle on Ice"...and that he hoped for their own version today. He got it.

i have serious doubts that the Americans will make a movie about this game... With Canada beating the Finns, the Swedish coach better hope the goalie can string two miracles in a row...

With Canada beating the Finns, the Swedish coach better hope the goalie can string two miracles in a row... And the Canadian girls better hope she doesn't. And on a side note, I wonder (after this afternoon's whatever you want to call it) if Gretzky can enlist some help from the women's team -- they most certainly played like they meant it every game, every shift.
