Washington has nothing to lose and bragging rights to gain. I predict a Thashers loss in the magnitude of 6-2. Ovechkin with a hat trick. Go Caps! p.s. Watch us clinch tonight and destroy Brodeur tomorrow. p.p.s. It could happen.

Also cheering for Ovechkin and Kolzig to come through. They'd better, because I asked them ever-so-nicely.
Well...no, I didn't as I know neither of them, but if I had met them, I would have told them to.
Anybody want to put hallucingetic drugs in Atlanta's water bottles?

Holik with a goal 11 seconds in.
But the Caps have chased Dunham on 2 very soft goals. Now Garnett is in.
Could be quite a night!

McCarthy ties it for Atlanta on a 4-on-4.
Fata scores 10 seconds later....3-2 Caps after 1.
Kovalchuk is scary out there....Thrashers getting all kinds of chances from the high slot. Kolzig playing well. Both Atlanta goalies have been suspect and Washington is looking very opportunistic as the Thrashers don't look all that strong in neutral ice or in their own zone.
I like the way this game has gone so far.

Spoken too soon. 4-3 Thrashers in second. I said "so far". Caps went to sleep offensively (shots 17-4 or something like that...then again they had a few penalties to kill)....only Kolzig has kept it a one-goal game. Dunham came back to start the second...and the Caps never really tested him. Ovechkin has had a couple of chances, but he's nowhere near dominating in any aspect. Atlanta's keeping a close eye on him. I fully expect the Thrashers to keep coming. And if the Caps don't get some lucky breaks/bounces, it'll be another "no favour" night for the Habs, which most of us figured on anyway. Still....... GO CAPS GO

Sutton with a penalty late.
Thrashers aren't doing themselves any favours right now.
