125 points. Wonder what Bruins' fans are thinking.
Immediate dividends for the Sharks and Cheechoo who wins the Rocket Richard Trophy with 56 goals....many set up by Thornton.
The story on Joe, as Habs' fans know very well.....he just doesn't bring it in the playoffs.
I have a feeling with the Sharks...he can.

Even though I've predicted Dallas as West Champion, I'm not counting the Sharks out and wouldn't be surprised to see them take out everyone.

I also think Dallas is a complete team from the goalie out. Should be an interesting first round with the Avs. The majority of Colorado fans are happy to face Dallas rather than Calgary. We shall see.

I think that Joe will do well now that he's not Captain, in a town where expectations haven't been piled on him since the age of 18. I had an interesting trade idea. I wonder if Boston could have tempted Calgary with Thornton in exchange for Phaneuf. Boston would have gotten fair value for their superstar, and Calgary would have had the ideal setup man for Iginla, and offensive boost needed to win them the cup. I'm sure it wouldn't have worked for salary cap reasons, but if it had, Calgary would be THE favorites to win it all this year.

Jagr looked like a lock for the Ross & Richard trophies a few weeks ago and slowed down a bit & so did the Rangers.
I actually heard Damien Cox, a writer in Toronto I respect, say a month or so ago that the Bruins were a better team without Thornton.
I wonder what he thinks now.

A better team without Mike O'Connell I think. The Thorton and Sampsanov trades sealed his fate. Cheers.

I think the decision wasn't Mike O'Connell's alone. I'm sure Jacobs and his eminence grise (Sinden) were the ones who had final approval.
Clearly, the fans were never a consideration.
Penny wise, pound foolish...

The story on Joe, as Habs' fans know very well.....he just doesn't bring it in the playoffs. I have a feeling with the Sharks...he can. All but 10 goals were set up by Thornton. What has bugged me up until Sunday's game is they have forgotten Cheechoo's role in Thornton's success. Joe and Jonathan have fed off each other. They have been natural's together. Cheechoo was already a good player, and so was Joe, but they have been better together. Without Cheechoo, Joe wouldn't have been this good and he wouldn't have won the Art Ross. Finally, finally, in Sunday's game, the Commentators finally acknowledged Cheechoo's part in the success. They commented on would Gretzky been as good without.....etc., etc. I'm glad someone is finally realizing that Joe isn't the only one and that it was as much Cheechoo as it was Thornton. (I still like Scott better though.)

Also pointed out that Marleau spends more time on the PP than Thronton.
