Did you guys see the third game of the Ducks-Avs? Breezy made a classic Breezy play. He send the puck softly across the center of his zone, gets picked up by a Shark player and a soft one goes between MeMoi's pads.
Would Pierre be interested in Gollum to create a Menage a Trois?

Can't say I was fully paying attention to the game, but you may want to edit your post HA as it was the Ducks.
Theodore seemed to have a very good game but unfortuneatly Lupul had his number.

The winning goal was deflected by Clark. We saw what can happen when a defenseman tries to get in the way against Carolina. I thought it was kinda soft until I saw the replay and that slight deflection. I get a kick out of people who call deflected goals soft .... and yet every goalie in the league has trouble with them .. hmmmm?

DUCKS? Man oh man, those Ducks have teeth! LOL! I did not see the entire game, only saw the second/third/OT. Theo played okay, nothing better then any good 1-2 million dollar goaltender would of done. Part of my problem with Theo was that he held the team ransom and then played mediocre. If you are paid like the ELITE in the league, those shots don't go through the 5 hole.

Theo has been standing on his head for most of the series, without his good playing the looses would have been much worse.
Its seems that their forwards just ran out of steam in this series. They don't want to mix it up with the Ducks defence at all, they give up on the play way to easily. Its looks like it gonna be 4 straight for the ducks.

I feel sorry for my son. When he starting cheering for the Habs, Brisebois was his favorite. You know how kids are, there's no explaining things. He didn't really understand why he left Montreal.
I know he watched the game last night and he was probably cringing when that pass was made. Oh well ...

If you are paid like the ELITE in the league, those shots don't go through the 5 hole. Concerning the OT winner, Theodore, like Huet, was ready for a hard shot that was rising...instead it deflected down off Clark's stick bounced on the ice and beat him. I've seen the BEST goalies in the league beaten by that. Although why they don't have the stick on the ice is always a mystery to me. Theodore made 2 highlight reel saves in the third period and three more excellent ones. In OT, he made 2 game savers. But Lupul's 2nd and 3rd goals were in the exact same place...high glove side....and that's been Theo's weakness all year. Kudos to Lupul for capitalizing on it. But as this thread suggests, you have to hang this loss on Brisebois. That wasn't just an Ooops play....you learn not to do that in Novice. I went over to the Avs HF board after the game....and they've been complaining about him all year apparently. Posts such as, "How many times has he got burned by that this year?"; "I think Brisebois and Turgeon have just played their last game in a Colorado uniform."; Breezeby for a 7th round pick." etc......the same lines we've all seen before. One guy commented on the fact that since Brisebois was signed for two years at 4.5 million, and he's listed as making 1.5 this year....that means 3 million next year....been there, done that, got the key chain. One guy posted a prediction before OT, "Brisebois with the winner." He wasn't far off.

The game 6 Habs-CAR OT goal was a crazy deflection, but a puck that just goes smack for the goalie and his 5-hole.... an elite goalie has to stop that.

By any chance, are you one of those "free range" hippie parents that sings Kumbaya to his kids?

After Game 4 to complete the sweep:
...and Brisebois, whose turnover led to Lupul's overtime goal in Game 3, had a trio of defensive breakdowns that led to Anaheim goals.
Brisebois missed the check on Penner late in the first period. When Kurt Sauer moved over to help, that left Marchant free, and he put the puck past Jose Theodore for the tying goal, his first of the playoffs.
Chris Kunitz beat Brisebois to the puck, washing out an icing call early in the second period. Andy McDonald got the puck out of the corner and fed it to former Avs forward Selanne for his fifth goal of the playoffs and a 2-1 Anaheim lead.
Early in the third, Lupul passed the puck out of the zone, and Brisebois whiffed at it at the opposite blue line, leading to a 3-on-1 Ducks break. Marchant passed to Penner for the goal at 6:07.
"I had some problems," Brisebois said. "The second goal I really had trouble. I know it was icing and I lost sight of the puck. I never saw the guy go by me. I tried to touch up the puck and I didn't get it. I went to the other side and that guy beat me to it.
"After that I couldn't do anything."

We forgive you. How is Paris this time of year?

Andy McDonald got the puck out of the corner and fed it to former Avs forward Selanne for his fifth goal of the playoffs and a 2-1 Anaheim lead. I watched that replay from a few seconds back and what was apparent to me was not that Brisebois was necessarily slow, but that he didn' start skating hard until he noticed Kunitz motoring up. If he'd skated hard from the second he was aware it was icing, he gets to the puck before Kunitz. You could see the second he noticed Kunitz, he sped up. It also looked like he picked the wrong side of the net to go to the puck. That, I think was deliberate, when he knew he wasn't getting there in time and it avoids a collision. Same old Brisebois...didn't really want to pay the price. Forget the 'losing the puck' comment. Totally misleading.

Avalanche's Lacroix steps down as GM; remains team presidentAmong the Avs players whom the Ducks really made look their age were forward Pierre Turgeon, 36, and defenceman Patrice Brisebois, 35, two of Lacroix's final acquisitions as GM.
Both have a year remaining on their contracts, but if the Avs are serious about adding speed, they'll have to take a hard look at buying them out to get more room under the salary cap, which is expected to be about $43 million US next season.
