Not really fair of me, as I'm out of touch with the hockey world for the next couple of weeks . . .but life goes on, I know . . . and by the time I'm back someone might know the answer to this: is there a site (or someone with too much time on his/her hand) where I/we can know the arbitration figures? I'd set it this way: Player - Team Offer - Player Request - Arbitration Amount An aside: I don't like the system used. I'd rather the MLB system, where the arbitrator choses one number of the two. This "I think you're worth . . ." business stinks. the arbitrator isn't footing the bill -- what does he know? And is he a hockey guy or a hack? Now . . . in the words of those great Canadians Bob and Doug, I'm about to "take off, eh".

I was under the assumption that the new CBA made the arbitration system just like the baseball version .... it is either the clubs offer or the player's request. He can't make up a number himself. Tsn has the awards .... but not what each side offered.

So was I, but from reading the CBA, it looks like the arbitrator gets to make up a number. Also, the party that didn't elect to go to arbitration gets to decide (before the hearing) wether the arbitration award will be for 1 or 2 years.
