Normally I laugh at all the trade proposals, because most poster seem to pull them out of their ^(&!
But I am so distraught of "my" team play of late that I have scoured the league and the "rumor" is that the Ducks, losers of 9 straight are looking to clear cap space, even after dealing Federov.
To Montreal:
R. Salei $1.82 P. Sykroa $3.11
TOTAL $4.93 Million
To Anahiem
S. Souray $2.128 M. Ribero $1.178
Total $3.296
Difference in salary -> Montreal + $ 1.74 Million
Justification: Souray seems to need a change of scenery, maybe being close to his kid in So. Cal would actually help his game. Ribero could replace some much needed offense that has been lacking since the Federov trade.
Skyora is a finisher adn Salei is still a physical Dman who in the late games I have seen is a good skater and makes a heck of a good first pass out of his zone. He has also seen time on the PP for the Ducks.
Plekanec and Bonk should be able to step up for Ribero
Montreal Lines
Zednk -- Koivu --- Kovy Sykora--Plekanec--Ryder Bulis--Bonk--Sundstrom Higgins---Begin--Perezhogin
Salei the veteran can play with Komi.
I just think Gainey has seen enough of Ribero's slow play and you can't balme Souray for letting his personal life effect his play, no matter what he says.
My gut says we are going to make a trade..and the last time it went of we traded Garon that same day.

I like it but I would personally prefer Vitaly Vishnevsky over Salei. Your not the only one who has been feeling that a roster move is imminent. My spidey sense has been tingling as well. I thought it was because I ate too much cabage last night.

No interest in Sykora - as he's a free agent next year, and a small skilled winger (that's not producing). What is Salei's age, and how long is he under contract?

I don't think Sykora brings anything more that we don't already have too much of.
I like Salei.

People are smelling a move in the offing eh? Was it in the wind prior to going 1-2-1 in the last 4 games?
I don't pretend to think that our roster is perfect. There are areas that concern me. I don't think this move addresses them.
With Marchant now in Anaheim, Burke has let it be known that Sykora is available. With the current market place, why would anyone trade a roster player for him? He'll go to a team with lots of cap space and Anaheim will take a pick for him.

actually, I think Sykora could bring a better and higher paid player if someone is looking to dump salary. Ducks are now at a little more than $35M and are also looking to trade Ozolinsh, Carney or Salei which can give them plenty of space under the cap to bring some offensive help. I think it's too early for Brian Burke to give up on the season, but they need some serious help upfront.
