WARNING!!! WARNING!!! I just received confirmation of the 2006-2007 NHL Center Ice broadcast schedule from ExpressVU, and for those of you who are out of province (I am in Southern Ontario) and bought Center Ice to watch Canadiens games, you are out of luck. NHL Center Ice is not carrying ANY of the Canadiens games. All Montreal Canadiens games will broadcast on RDS. Center Ice will not be picking up the US English feed for any Canadiens games. This was not the case last year. Aside from the occasional games on CBC or TSN, the only source for 2006-07 Montreal Canadiens hockey that Bell ExpressVu owners can watch will be on RDS. As I already have RDS/TSN, I've just canceled my NHL Center Ice Package as it now is useless to me. Anyone expecting the same programing as last year will be greatly disappointed.

Is that a regional decision ... or a national decision. I can understand blacking out games in Ontario due to the fact that Toronto would want the populace either watching Toronto or going to the ACC. But are they not showing Habs games across the entire country?

i've been telling my buddy for a few years now, i believe that the powers that be are trying to kill off the habs fan following. montreal only comes to the west every 3 years now, toronto and the corporations control the media, and 98% of them are people from ontario that hated the habs because we kicked the crap outta the leafs for decades.
i honestly believe that.

I think maybe we need a Habs Channel. Half french/ half english HD programming would be easy to sell to the CRTC. It's good for the country. Habs games in an hour, interviews, classic games, etc. There's enough history to fill years of 24/7 programming and enough fans to support it across the country.
Does anyone have Uncle George's email addy?

THIS IS NOT CORRECT!!! In the Leafs territory, you get the Habs game. I confirmed this on the Center Ice schedule.
In the Sens/Habs territory, you don't but that is because RDS is part of the local cable package.
For instance... October 17 Calgary plays Montreal In the Laffs region on channel 463 In the Sens/Habs region RDS In the Sens region 463

I fought so hard (emails, complaints) to get us out of the Toronto region and into a region that showed the Habs ... last year was a blessing. I hope Newfoundland get to see the games.

Years ago I looked into Centre Ice and was told no Habs games in my market.

I live just outside Hamilton and have had the Center Ice package for 4 or 5 seasons now. Every season without fail, they screw up a game or two early in the season as I get the Cogeco cable feed which is just a copy from Roger's cable and they sometimes throw me into the Ottawa/Habs market when obviously, I am nowhere near it. A few angry calls to people who have no idea to what I'm talking about and it is usually all straightened out by week 2.
This season is interesting as the first 4 or 5 games are all CBC/TSN national broadcasts so I won't know if they have it right for about a week and a half to two weeks.

I know this has nothing to do with this thread .... but watching Center Ice now, Washington vs Rangers. They should give Ovechkin a new nickname .... "The Wizard of OZZ". The Capitals first line is Ovechkin, Zubrus and Zednik.

This season is interesting as the first 4 or 5 games are all CBC/TSN national broadcasts so I won't know if they have it right for about a week and a half to two weeks. I know, I saw that too so I checked into it further. In fact, that's what started all of this. I searched and searched for an ExpressVu schedule for NHL Center Ice. I found this Canadian schedule for October and November 2006. It includes local, regional and national programing for all games. You can specify specific teams, which is the link I've included below. www.channelcanada.com/tvzone/nhl.php?Country=can&Team=Canadiens&selDate=2006-10I then contacted Skydish who look after the ExpressVu programing. They admitted that the broadcast schedule for the Canadiens games appeared to be carried exclusively with RDS/TSN and CBC. 98% of the games were carried last year. Most were US feeds from the opposing teams local broadcaster. NESN, FSN, MSG or Adelphia usually picked up the games. Of course any time TSN or Sportsnet picked up a game it was blacked out on NHL Centre Ice. Now....it's all RDS. I really hope this is a big mistake, but Skydish and the schedule all confirm my fears. If it's a mistake, then I'll try and rescind my cancellation. Any additional info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Well GD it!! It appears from the Rogers schedule that all home games will be blacked-out in Newfoundland, and we will get the scatter road game ...... if I am reading that schedule right the first game I will see on Center Ice will be Oct. 26th at Boston. All the games prior to that will either be blacked-out (damn Senators region) or on RDS or a national coverage game on CBC or TSN.

I am on hold with ExpressVU (Skydish) right now. I am going to get a definitive answer from them right now. This is horse s**t. I wish I had Rogers so I didn't have to worry. I would hope the programing for Southern Ontario (outside the GTA) is the same on ExpressVu as it is on Rogers. I guess I am about to find out. I'll be asking for an email link to the ExpressVu pdf. of their 2006-2007 NHL Centre Ice Programing Schedule. How long can they leave a person on hold? Skilly.....I imagine the schedule they give me will include the national sched too. I'll be sure to let you know if they'll be sending the same games your way!

Skilly, your sched is in the Green. The 1st non TSN CBC game is Saturday the 14th, you'll get the game on 457. It appears you get the N/A (not available) when the game is on 463.Maybe you don't get that channel number. I know from previous seasons, that almost all Hab games are on 463. Well GD it!! Wow.....no one seems to know what the 2006-2007 ExpressVu NHL Centre Ice program schedule is?!?!?!? When I mention Rogers they change the subject. They keep reading the "BLACKOUT" policies to me. I know I am no where near the Montreal region. They have assured me that the programing hasn't changed since last year. Prove it. They certainly don't instill a lot of confidence. OK. Finally got a 2006-2007 NHL Centre Ice Schedule for ExpressVu which has been emailed to me from NHL Centre Ice, a wholly different entity than ExpressVu. It would appear that I was given the wrong info earlier today. I apologize to everyone who took my initial post as fact. I stand corrected. NHL Centre Ice and ExpressVu will carry all of the Canadiens games that same as last year. NOW they tell me this is the case, anyway. (Keeping fingers crossed) IF it's not, God help them all. If anyone wants a copy, send me a message and I'll be sure to pass the schedule that NHL Centre Ice gave me along to you.

It seems that the CBC is showing more Habs games (17) than they did last year.

How would they know if an individual was not subscribed or not ... , besides I watched a game on 457 last night.... Capitals vs Rangers.
