I think his history ( 22 goals just 2 years ago) and his size warrant a look for the LW spot.
He's in the final year of a contract as well so maybe he could be had for picks.

It's on Eklund's site apparently. Nuff said. I know there's a thread on hfboards and the supposed rumour is :
Mike Ribeiro, Alexander Perezhogin & Pierre Dagenais to the Penguins
for
Ryan Malone, Colby Armstrong and a 3rd Rnd Pick
To say I don't like the components is putting it mildly.

Wouldn't we be giving up too much? Malone is not all that and Armstrong's a projected fourth liner.

I wish the people making this stuff up would actually think about what they are writing. - the Habs #2 centre and one of their top prospects & a spare part for a guy( Malone) who is a healthy scratch lately and is a UFA to be, someone else most of us have not heard of and a mid range pick - please. Do they really believe people to take this seriously? As I said in my previous post, his stock has dropped this year and he is in the final year of his contract. Malone on his own should not cost that much.

Therrien wants to get rid of him due to bad work ethics...don't we have enough of that already?

I don't see Pittsburgh being interested in Ribs anyway. Do they need another centre? Malkin will be there next year for one. From that perspective it doesn't make sense to me really.

Apparently those interested in Malone have to take Tarnstrom as well,so $$$ may become a factor in this deal. HFTO
