On the Team 990 they are reporting that BG took Julien Brisebois (his director of Hockey Operations and "Cap-ologist") with him to Colorado for a meeting with Uncle George. Could this mean something? A big trade? Probably not... While it may not mean anything imminent, it certainly is a strong indication that Gainey wants to see what his wiggle room is both in terms of CAP and Budget. ...on a much simpler matter, it could also mean that Bob is simply starting to prepare his offer to Saku Koivu. Perhaps a deal is pending Montreal's ability to negotiate a deal with an incoming player who is approaching UFA status. Or maybe Gainey brought him along for fun to see how much of a frenzy he could stir up.

According to the Ottawa Sun, if the Canadiens are considering dealing G Jose Theodore, the Vancouver Canucks might be interestd, and the Habs would likely want Todd Bertuzzi in exchange. With Cristobal Huet getting back-to-back starts recently, Theodore's name becomes only more active on the trade front. www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=150638&hubname=

His column is more like hockey gossip, not news.
