tsn.ca is reporting, without a link yet, that the Flyers have traded Denis Seidenberg to the Coyotes for Petr Nedved.
I find this move a surprise. The Coyotes have a lot of defencemen. I don't see Seidenberg necessarily cracking their lineup either. I guess Nedved is a short term replacement for Primeau. I'm thinking they feel he won't be back this year.

It's probably a cost cutting move for the Coyotes.
I think Nedved is earning $2.2M this year.

Definite cost cutting for them. He just doesn't fit the Philly profile. It tells me Clarke wanted depth at centre now, and that Primeau likely won't be back this season.

\ I find this move a surprise. The Coyotes have a lot of defencemen. I've read that Derek Morris' return is uncertain.

Seidenberg is hardly a replacement for Morris.

He's probably a great replacement for the guy in Morris' place, the invisible man.
