The Habs play their next four games on the road. It's a perfect opportunity for Gainey and Carbonneau assess the team talent and the team chemistry.
I really doubt any moves will be made until that trip is done and management goes over their notes. But I think there is a very good chance it will be the last road trip with the Canadiens for some.
Theodore is likely safe because no one would want his salary.
My guess is that both Zednik and Ribeiro are on thin ice, escpecially with some of the younger players knocking on the door. Sundstrom might also be available but not necessarily because he is ineffective. It's just that a guy like Dandenault could be moved to forward.
Dandenault, Bouillon, Komisarek and Streit have to be wondering if their playing time will be reduced or if they will be eliminated.
Dandenault looks ineffective on D much of the time and although I doubt he will be traded, he could end up playing more RW. Komisarek has size and potential going for him and will likely be kept because of that.
It comes down to Streit and Bouillon, both of whom have shortcomings. One of them could lose their spot and it depends on circumstances (waiver rules or value in a trade) who might be gone.
i just can't see Gainey standing pat and watching the season go down the drain.

At this point this team has no chemistry. Therefore, I believe anyone is tradeable. I wouldn't be surprised to see big names like Koivu, Kovalev, Theo and/or any combination of young guns moved to acquire a little chemistry, work ethic and mental toughness. Despite what some here think, I think a near wholesale change is in order. Something in the order of 5-8 players gone by next season. Carboneau will want to see his type of players brought in that will utilize his system to the fullest. That means more Chris Higgins type, hard working, never say die brick *hithouse type players.

I agree 100%, this team needs a major shake-up, from the first line right down to the goalie. The only players I would not trade are Bulis, Higgins, Markov, Perezhogin, Ryder, Plekanec, Kostitsyn and Bouillon. yes Bouillon is the smallest guy on the team and the only one that plays in your face every game. imagine if he was 6'3" 220 pounds. The rest of them are replaceable.
