He's one for ya all:
I was watching PTS last night on Sportsnet...Bob had a reporter on the phone talking about the leafs, and Steve Brunt, brunt was talking about Belford and maybe the Leafs should maybe try and pick up Luongo during the offseason.
The reporter on the phone(I cant remember his name but he's a pretty good guy) said something to the fact that "Luongo wouldn't sign with Flordia because he wants to sign with Montreal during the offseason." and "look for the Habs to get rid of Theo before the trade deadline."
Sounds believable, If the reporter heard that Luongo wants to go to Montreal, I'm sure Montreal and Theo knows as well.

One of those grain of salt things methinks. The only way BG gets rid of Jose at the deadline is if the team is out of the hunt. His salary makes him tough to move though. Someone like Dwayne Roloson is going to garner a lot of interest in the coming weeks. Rollie is a strong goalie, and incredibly cheap. Those two factors are going to put him at the top of a lot of lists I think.
Does Luongo want to play in Montreal? Maybe. I'm sure there are numerous french Canadians that do, or have dreamed about the possibility in their youth. If he truly does, do the Canadiens, BG, and Theo know that? Luongo's agent, Gilles Lupien ( a former Hab), may not be the most tactful or tight-lipped agent out there, but I think the two will keep their cards close to their chest on this one. I really doubt that Lupien has made any overtures to the Canadiens brass.
Because of Jose's current plight, I fully expect to see him in the Canadiens fold through the rest of the season. Time will tell.

Luongo will still be a restricted free agent next summer. The habs will have to make a trade and Keenan will receive several offers.

I heard Brunt & McCowan of the FAN590 in Toronto on the radio last night talking to Dave Shoalts of the Globe & Mail. Shoalts was talking about the leafs getting Luongo. He ignored the fact the Luongo is an RFA, not a UFA. He did say something about Theodore but I didn't hear it.

Just like in Montreal, the Leafs will get everyone in the league at no costs.
If Luongo has the choice of Mtl or TO I would hope he'd chose Mtl.

Luongo will still be a restricted free agent next summer. ...which kinda discredits that reporter's idea. Luongo clearly doesn't want to stay in Florida as he turned down their last offer and said that he wants to wait and see if the team will be competitive but he's bound to Florida for at least one more season. Keenan will probably trade him but nothing forces him to send him to Montreal... He could deal him to Colorado for a pretty interesting return and something tells me that Roberto wouldn't mind signing long term with a competitive team like Colorado. I think Luongo to Montreal is like Lecavalier to Montreal, a nice dream that will never happen until they are way past their prime.

No better way to blackmail every penny from another team then to declare that you will sign somewhere else. Didn't we go through this with The Prince?
