Could be the "imaboutobetraded" flu bug. I hear it is a nasty little bug floating around in the air in Zed's neighbourhood.

Well the Zed's flu for us may be a blessing. Players have slumps, but Zed's demise has to be more than that he's fallen off the face of the earth. HFTO

Zednik's had a tough year in that he's been injured or sick several times. It's tough to be on your game when you are constantly in and out of the lineup. For that reason, I could forgive his lack of production this year. Should we trade a guy for having one bad year? I bet the Stars are glad they didn't do that with Modano. But I digress. While I can forgive him for his low point totals, it's tough to forgive him for never moving his feet. As I often like to yell at my tv, "SKATE! SKATE! SKATE!"

Right now, Higgins, Plekanec and Perezhogin are out-hustling, out-working and plain out-scoring Zednik. As much as I like the guy, if he's not digging in the corner for loose pucks and driving to the net, he's ineffective. He didn't score 30 goals one year by fluke.

The other thing I noticed is that he doesn't shoot that much. I can remember him with Washington scoring on some long distance bombs. He doesn't seem to try it anymore.
