Was listening to "the coach" on a local radio station. I was trying to listen to his rundown on the current "trading positions" of the Canadian teams, but had folks in and out of the office all morning. Here's what I caught though:
* the frontrunners for Jokinen are the Flames and Senators;
* The Leafs are looking to deal just about any veteran on their roster so as to free up some finances. This includes Belfour, Sundin, Tucker and O'Neil;
* Edmonton has a surplus of defencemen and sill be looking to deal; and out of Montreal
* Jose Theodore is being shopped around and ex-Frontenac Jan Bulis may be on the block as well.
Guys, I have no references other than the radio show itself. I'll try to get some of this verified but I won't waste any time if I can't get a hold of the station itself.
Cigarviper, did you by chance hear the broadcast this morning?
Cheers.

Sorry Dis, I missed it. I usually listen to 100.7 in the morning. The Bob & Tom show is just what a non-morning guy needs to start the day in a good mood. I wouldn't put much stock into "the coach's" reports though. Besides, who the hell is gonna take a flyer on Theo? Not gonna happen. We're stuck with him at least until the summer, unless he's willing to renegotiate his contract or something along the lines of what Hasek did in Detroit. Yeah right. Even this summer will be tough to unload him. We probably have to wait until next season gets well under way and he proves that he's competent again.

Is Jose Theodore tradeable even though he's injured?
I thought that I heard somewhere that players who are injured, aren't allowed to be traded. Is this true?

Just heard Y.Pendault on the Fan 590 he says Gainey will entertain offers for Jose,but really doesn't expect any deals to come from the Montreal camp. However he did say with Gainey you never know. This team still needs imoprovement but I'm of the opinion that Gainey may not do anything,feeling the best trade he's made has happened already on the ice. HFTO

This is the thing we were talking about here at work, FG. I don't think any player can be traded if on the IR. Another thing we talked about was whether Toronto is prepared to concede the season right now. Moving the bulk of their veterans out this week sends a message to the club and fans that the playoffs are a write-off. Might not go over too well at this point. CV, I don't know what "coaches" credentials are. He has a regular spot on K-Rock every day in which he talks for about 5 or 6 minutes on sports news of the day. I've never heard him go out on a limb like he did this morning so I got the impression that he was passing on information he had heard elsewhere. Cheers.

This includes Belfour, Sundin, Tucker and O'Neil; Heh, wouldn't it be a sweet kick in the teeth if we could pry Sundin away from Toronto. He hasn't had that great of a season either, and is quite the floater, but still possesses immense offensive capabilities. As if we could take on that salary.

Perhaps if a team needs goalie help down the road instead of right now a deal can be made for Theodore. I guess if both teams were agreeable than the trade could go through.
