CODE believes that HABS could be interested in Tkatchuck...
If we can fit him within the budget that would be one heck of a coup !

He would be a heck of a pickup.
He's signed for next season at $3.8M, but I believe that the hit against the cap is something in the $5M range.
Considering the fact that he's been highly injury prone this season, I wonder if it would be worth it to take the risk on him. He has been dynamite when healthy this season, but getting him would be a huge hit against the cap next season.
I would rather have Tkachuk than Bertuzzi though. Tkachuk can put up similar, or better, numbers, he would be cheaper to acquire and he comes with a lot less baggage.

He'd be a great addition, however, every indication out of St. Louis is that Tkachuk is happy there and has no intention of waiving his no trade clause. From the Blues POV, if he were to waive his no trade clause, I'm sure they could stir up quite the bidding war given his contract situation next year. His price tag would not be cheap. A line of Kovalev, Koivu, and Tkachuk would sure by a treat to watch though.
