Tomas Plekanec 03/06/2006 @ 09:20 PM I recieved an anonymous tip that the Canadien Forward was about to be moved...Someone in the press box up here just noticed a trainer pull him off the bench and he just went up the runway...take it for what it is worth...the tip came from a new source, and I am only reporting it because Plekanec looked at the trainer and looked confused......hard to tell, since we are hundreds of feet away, but this is very suspicious...this deadline is getting interesting... ----------------------------- My thoughts: It seems unlikely that Gainey would finalize a deal while in the midst of coaching a game. Did anyone notice Pleks leaving the game tonight? If he were dealt, it woud most likely be to a non playoff team. Witt would be a nice addition, but I'd hate to part with Pleky for a rental. Plekanec is a pretty good trading asset at this point in the season - one that would interest teams with no hope of the playoffs (Washington, Chicago, St. Louis, Phoenix, Florida, etc.). It's an Eklund rumour (to be taken with a grain of salt) especially when he admits it's from a new anonymous source. www.hockeybuzz.com/blogworld/blog.aspx?blogger=1&post=1467

Tomas Plekanec left the game in the third with a shoulder injury. He will be examined today Gazette Eklund strikes [out] again.

Sounds like someone is in the background playing Eklund like a puppet.
Cheers.

I wonder what Eklund's day job is.
I mean c'mon, how can Gainey finalize a deal during a game when he's behind the bench?
