Pass.

I love his attitude, but his goal scoring peaked in 1992 when Crosby was 2 years old. He is always modest with the press and as diplomatic as the President of Iran. If he earns $1.5M it won't cover the fines Bettman is projecting. Let's wait five years and try to sign Eric Lindros in his declining years. -pass-

He's destined to be a Leaf for sure.
Do we really need a sideshow? We're seriously trying to win a cup here.

He's saying all the right things....and he seems to have a new attitude...I am not sure I would say no to this. If he comes in real cheap with bonuses, why not? Selanne was washed up too...supposedly!
He'd be coming to a serious team, focused on winning, as opposed to LA, the city of parties! I'd think real hard before saying no to him. The only thing that would scare me, is his health (concussions, etc...)

JR is as beat up as Lindros. His numbers have been steadily declining since the new millenium. He has nothing left in the tank me thinks.

Today's hockey version of the VW Beetle. Hugely successful and quaint and quirky, but out of place today.

I have to agree with THF, if the price is right I think he could be an interesting pickup. He has been a proven leader with good work ethic and some sandpaper to him that just may be what the Habs need. He could mentor the young, distract the media should times get tough, and just might be able to pot 20 goals or so in the process.
Like a few of you have stated though, I too think he is destined to sign with the Leafs. Vancouver could also be an option as a replacement for Bert.

I think we have too many holes to fill with quality players before we can absorb his...persona. Don't get me wrong, I've always liked the entertainment aspect to his stardom, but really, do you see him benefitting the Habs a great deal? Whoever takes a flyer on him will only see him in the lineup a total of twenty, thirty games or so.
