Still unsigned at this point. I know he had surgery to repair a broken hand back in March but he did have 60 points with the Leafs last year and is still only 31 - although with a history of concussions.
If you're looking for some good Ribeiro insurance I would consider adding him. He's not the fastest skater but when healthy he's always been a solid offensive player.
Just a thought.

No thanks. He's even slower than Ribs, and an even bigger defensive liability.

I think he is just too slow for the NHL now. He would get his points on the powerplay but he was a liability in Toronto 5 on 5. There were also persistent rumors in Toronto that he was complaining about ice time & even went over Quinn's head about it.
The Habs had a centre that could put up some points, had skating issues and was a somewhat controversial figure. Gainey just traded him.

If CODE can be believed, than the Habs are one of 3 teams interested along with the Flames & the Capitals. They supposedly offered a one year deal. I hope this isn't true for the reasons I stated in my previous post. Here's the link to the blog: www.hockeysinsider.com/

Based on the awe inspiring efficiency of the Habs' powerplay I'd sign him as long as he understands that he is mainly a special teams player and will ride the pine a lot.

Right now we are at almost 43 Million dollars. Let's remember that the insurance on Bouillon's contract does not kick in until game #11. So that is when we will experience a small savings, very small actually. So unless Allison comes here at the league minimum and then we are able to lose his cap hit when Bouillon's returns, I'd rather save that 1 million dollars for any deadline deals that may put us over the top.

Hey now, it's early days yet but the Habs have the second most efficient power play in the conference. And the fifth most effective penalty killing. [ sports.espn.go.com/nhl/standings ] Could be smoke and mirrors, or a new bag of tricks. Allison is just too differently enabled at this point to be even a special teams player.

Eric Duhatschek on the Hot Stove said that Allison turned down 1 million from the Blues & is looking for 3 million. Good luck with that.
The panel seemed to agree that the next player signed would probably be Yannic Perreault.
