According to Spector's hockey site, from Olivier Chabot, the rumors are Kovalev for St. Louis, Samsonov for Tuomo (sp.) Ruutu (Chicago) and that 5 western teams are interested in Souray, Edmonton, Calgary and San Jose and 2 others.
What do you think ?? Personally I don't like any of them.

or is it Ruutu: 0-0-0; -1 . . . for Sammy? I don't hink so! Souray . . . ambivalent. I won't miss him but we have noone as a replacement.

These people are all nuts. Do you really think that Gainey, let alone any GM would make that many changes on a team in one fell swoop? How many players would you be trading if the team was off to a bad start?

Kovalev for St Louis? Trade a guy that is a big part of the now, for a player that's struggling in the now. Not to mention the huge contract Martin has. No thanks.
Samsonov for Ruutu? Yes, Tuomo is very talented. He's Glass Joe though. He literally can't stay healthy. No thanks.
I'm not interested in trading Sheldon at this point. He's a weapon we don't have a replacement for. Our PP would suffer greatly. Our special teams are a big reason for where we are right now, and moving Sheldon would create a big big void.

I like Kovalev better than St. Louis and yes, Ruutu is injury prone. Souray, well he is playing much better in his own end recently not to mention he has the hardest shot in the league.

If we trade Kovalev I think you can pretty much forget about retaining Markov as a free agent next year.

The only teams happy here would be Tampa, Chicago and those so called interested Western Teams. Ruutu is made out of porcelain, St-Louis is living off his one good year a la Theodore, and the team is so-so on defense so forget giving up Souray. Besides, in accordance to BG's modus operandi so far, if we are hearing about, it means it's probably not true

Trading Kovalev for St. Louis would rank up there with the stupidest trade of the decade. St. Louis did nothing of substance last year and he carries a HUGE contract. As pirma donut that Kovalev is, he still more usefull and dangerous then St. Petit.

St. Louis 10 G 5 A 15 PTS +3 Kovalev 4 G 6 A 10 PTS -4 st. louis was unreal in the short playoffs they had, even taking runs at chara. i love kovalev, but if the salaries were equal i'd bring marty home.
