Just great...3 points in 3 games and he gets hurt..what a bummer www.faceoff.com/nhl/teams/canadiens/news/story.html?f=/news/20030103/343973.html''It's what you'd expect on a night when the Canadiens were outshot 35-19. What they didn't expect, however, was the possible loss of Jan Bulis, who left in the final minute of the game after being slashed across the wrist. '' Hope he is OK...why couldn't Audette be the one getting slashed for a change... why always the Koivu's and Zednik's and Markov's and other important players

You said it Marc. Was it just me or was Rat Face brutal. Why in the world did MT have him on with 2 minutes left and the goalie pulled? ??

Hope he is OK...why couldn't Audette be the one getting slashed for a change... why always the Koivu's and Zednik's and Markov's and other important players Audette will never get slashed ... He doesn't go into traffic...he's a floater. Floaters don't get hurt, they just go offside.

Audette got his hand almost cut off last year while doing an all out defensive play...
A few months ago, everybody was amazed at his character, heart and determination for coming back from a major injury and be one of the best HABS in the playoffs.
...Now the fans are wishing injuries on him... Making him the scapegoat of everything that's wrong with the HABS... This Audette bashing spree is totally out of hands and borderline sickening.
Yes he's in a slump. Yes he's struggling. No he isn't the worst player ever to lace them up and frankly isn't even the worst HABS in my book.

However, I will agree with you that there are a couple of players who are worse than he is...namely on defense. But, I think that they have been getting their share of criticisms as well. I think that Audette is getting a lot of flack because we expect him to be so much better (offensively). It's very disappointing for most Hab fans that he isn't able to contribute. But again, I personnally won't cry when he is gone. cheers

I agree, it's very disapointing.
But his contribution to the HABS current problems is overplayed quite a bit.
How about Juneau and Dackell who are among the most played forward yet produces nothing offensively, are among the worst +/- on the team, never hit and are the corner stone of one of the worst PK squad in the league. How about a D corp that gets continually manhandle as if they were pee-wee...
Audette got benched after less then a dozen games and have been bouncing from lines to lines ever since, we even saw him on left wing, a position he never played before... He gets powerplay time... big deal, I don't know of a team that wouldn't use him on their powerplay if they had him on their roster. Then again, Audette gets powerplay time with linesmate he doesn't play with during the game. How many guys do we know play on a 4th line during the game but gets put on the powerplay and are successful at that? I've never seen this nor heard of this... ever.
I am not saying Audette plays good right now, but him and Czerkawski are veteran players that can score 30 goals. One is in the AHL, one struggles like he never did before and we wonder why we don't have much offense and can barely get 20 shots a game...

I am with you on the Habs players being missused. MT has gone the extra mile to make this team disfunctionnal. A lot of mistakes were made this year. Many by the coach, many by the players and many by AS. I blame Charron for the PK problems....the players have to follow a system. Carbo's system last year was good, and the PK was good. I don't blame Juneau and Dacks. But like you, I would like to see more offensive production from the 2. And, I also have no problem with using Audette on the PP. Where I do have a problem is that it isn't working. MT has had him on the PP for ever and it just isn't clicking. I, for one, don't think it's as much his arm as it is his confidence. Maybe what he needs is what Chow is going through right now. A stint in the AHL could get him producing again and getting some confidence back. But right now, he is missing all his chances. Someone on the ball would probably score on a couple of fanned shots by Audette. Something drastic needs to happen with Audette to shake him out of his situation. I don't think that giving him tons of ice time will be enough.

Doc makes a good point about how Audette got hurt. And I do not wish him any harm.
But I do think that this is more than a slump and that the injury has permanently impaired his ability, ie he's finished as a scorer and so pretty well useless as an NHL player. I still say the Habs ought to work out a setllement with him and the sooner the better.
If AS is able to trade him for anything I'll be both shocked and delighted.
