Good pickup for the Sens, who are definitely weak at C with Fisher and Spezza gone . . . and they didn't give anything to get him -- Kaigorodov went "home" instead of reporting the the AHL at the beginning of the season. The Sens thought that he would be a # 1 or 2, but couldn't cut it with the bigs during training camp. Sens thought he needed seasoning; he thought he needed mommy.
Advantage this season anyway: Sens, though they are stuck with Comrie now. And half his $3M contract.

Interesting.
Ottawa had (from sites I have read) 1.3 million cap space. Sure the injuries saved them some money ... but one has to wonder how close they are now or even what needs to be done to get them down.

Skilly, I think that with Spezza and Fisher both on the shelf (IR) that insurance kicks in and their salary is off the books (the 10 game thing).

Good pickup.
I don't particularely like Comrie's attitude but the talent is there. Sens are a better team today. As for cap issue, they took a page from Lamoriello's book and they'll cross the bridge when/if they get there.

The move definitely puts them up against the cap ceiling. Their flexibility is hampered for sure. As for who they got, I'd be luke warm to it were I a Sens fan. Comrie hasn't done much to impress in recent years. In fact, he hasn't done much since he left Edmonton. IMO if he doesn't start to impress he could find himself work at one of the families Brick outlets.
