How long or what will it take for savard to make some kind of move with this team? We all know no matter what good stretch this team puts forth it is followed with a bad one. IMO oipinion savard missed the boat in the offseason ,the early part of the year and now we'll wait and see after the holiday season.I'm not expecting miracles but IMO if he thought he could make the playoffs he is playing with fire by not doing something to change the chemistry. I believe that the first real move AS will make will be a coaching change. I don't think that there is much interest in the Habs players at this time. The options for AS in this context is rather limited. A real shake-up is needed. With a 7 game road trip, I believe that the players will take this time to send a message to AS. By loosing games on the road, they will be spared by the annoying MTL press. It is obvious to me that the players are playing this way on purpose. How else do we explain the lackluster effort and the extremely low shots on goal? Like I have mentionned in another thread, the players are playing well enough not to get blown out of the water, but are loosing just the same. They are showing AS how incompetent MT is behind the bench. With such bad performances, MT is unable to motivate and use his players effectively. (ie. Traverse on the Powerplay...please) Glaring mistakes by the coach are gonna shine on this road trip. AS won't have any other choice than to face the music, and fire MT. I believe that the first move to turn this team around, is to start at the top and work his way down. Options: Some people have mentionned Hartley. He has shown to be a pretty good coach. He obviously is a smarter hockey man than MT. The problem I have with him is his lack of patience with younger players. Isn't this one of MT's failings? Why do we need more of the same? Granted, he, at least has a system. But are we ready to sacrifice our youth's development for a system? I think we can get both with the right coach. Some have mentionned Gainey (me included). Some arguments are that Gainey would be a threat to AS. Baloney!!! If AS is so insecure, he shouldn't be in the GM position in the first place. AS is there to make decisions to make the Habs better. If he won't make tough decisions cause he is afraid of getting the boot, he should get axed regardless. I have said it before and I will say it again. The Habs need a coach who has done it all. Play, coach, manage and won. Gainey fits this description. The big plus here, is that the players will respect a guy like Gainey. Can we say the same for MT? Has he ever played? Has he ever won anything as a player? Does he have the respect of his players? Robinson is another good choice for many of the same reasons as Gainey. He is a winner and is well respected. Having either guy with the Habs would also go a long way in bringing back some pride in wearing the CH. Neither guy would accept half ass efforts. And Neither guy would accept having Traverse as our number 2 defenseman. We need a hockey brain, with some good old fashion Habs pride, behind the bench. AS, you gotta move!!! Cheers,

Hejduk and Tanguay played with Sakic Drury and Reinprecht played with Forsberg Vrbata got good ice time Skoula got major minutes Aebischer got a decent amount of starts for a backup IMO, Hartley is pretty good with youth. To answer Phil's question...it looks like the longer Savard waits, the hole will just get deeper for this team. They obviously have ZERO respect for MT and they have played like a team that wants a coach to be fired.

Well, a coaching change seems to be a no-brainer for most posters here. When you get outshot (usually very badly) in something like 31 of 36 games, I suggest you don't need to be a rocket scientist to see that your team is completely rudderless. Enough already. The toilet has been flushed. Like Todd said, over to you Andre.

After all, we are the experts! cheers
