One of the things he talked about were the suicides of two players. These players did this because they wanted to save their families the embarrassment of they being suspended by their clubs for alcohol and substance abuse.
Grapes basically said it doesn't matter what you've done to be suspended, life isn't over because of this. Your parents will always take you back and forgive you because they love you.
It was quite the message; very emotional. Normally Ron MacLean would add a final note, but on this night he couldn't; fitting and proper. He just motioned to the camera man to go to commercial.
If you missed it, try accessing the coaches corner segment on CBC sports. It's a must see.
A very controlled "wow" comes to mind. Cheers.

Agreed all around. Cherry may be disliked for this or for that, but he always puts his cards on the table. He makes no bones about the fact that he is a Leafs fan, and I respect him for that. Now if his bosses could come to terms with that. But that's another discussion. He has a very human side to him, and that's why I like the guy. He tells you exactly what he's thinking. Kudos to Don, for another job well done.

Good call Dis. I hate the guy in almost every respect, but he had a good point last night.
