Looking at the positives tonight...Hainsey's best NHL game by far IMO
Sure Ron made a couple of mistakes...yes he didn't get PP time....but for once, especially in the 3rd, he went for it offensively. The Rivet goal, happened because Hainsey forced a turnover on who else...Mario...and kept the puck in the zone. If Karl Dykhuis doesn't sit when Quintal returns, this organization is just a f'in joke.
He played 14:21 acording to the guys on Team 990. The only way this guy will improve is by playing. It's called short term pain(maybe) for long term gain(certainly). He is better than Dykhuis. Play him more to see if he can keep it going.
Now the Bulis-Koivu-Zed looked pretty fine...give them more chances
now the bad....
Audette replacing McKay on the 2nd line...brutal decision...everyone who plays with Audi has a bad game it seems.
Brutal passing all night
Not enough determination
Not enough pressure on a bad D
and the goal judge on the Zed goal

i completely agree... bulis REALLY needs to find some finish!!! man, that cross bar, then fanning in close, and countless other opportunities... give him a couple games to build confidence and he could be a real offensive dynamo though, he just needs to finish on his opportunities

Well one things for sure, if the Habs keep playing like this in their own end, we will have a very nice draft pick when June rolls around. I thought Kilger had a very good game. He was very physical, which is what I love to see from him. Hainsey did seem to have his best game, and showed some good things for the future. Bulis Koivu Zednik line did show some good things, sucks that goal didn't count. On the other hand, Audette makes me want to puke. I hate seeing him in the lineup, and hopefully he joins Chow on the bus tour through North America, but that wont happen. The refs make me want to puke more then when I watch Audette play. McKay seemed a step behind, and Ribs wasn't doing much of anything in his brief stint.

The boys looked flat from the get go. One could tell ten minutes in a loss was looming. Hainsey did not look great, but did not look out of place either. If not for the demorlizing loss last night I think Theo would have got the start tonight and everyone else would have had a little more pep in their step. Funny thing is we always talk about young guys and how they will fit in down the road. Where are the guys we were talking about two or three years ago? I am getting a sinking feeling as the season progresses. Therian should be updating his resume. Although not his fault, got to shake things up.

Therrien Must go MThead as he is considered around here(among other things) just doesn't cut it at the NHL level nice guy but not a very good coach to say the least. Again Cheers and welcome Aboard. I think tonights game bodes well for regular spots for Hainsey and Bulis on the top line, as neither looked out of place.
We've all known now about this team, that since the beginning of the year, there is something rotten at the core. Basically, that this ship is rudderless, and players do not respect MT.
Like a rotten apple, that ugly, smelly, black stuff is starting to spread to the surface. The last few games have been very painful. Not in all my years of following the Habs since the late 70's have I seen anything like this. The D-men are lost. Not nearly physical enough to handle NHL calibre forwards. The forwards do no sustain any pressure on the cycle in the offensive zone, creating even more pressure on the D. What that spells is the team depending way too much on the goaltending, and getting consistently, and sometimes severely and embarrassingly outshot. Even the really bad teams of the 90's were not as bad.
If the trend continues on the road trip, I think that AS will finally have no choice to can MT, as he will be overwhelmed with evidence that as it stands, with its leadership (or lack there of), and without the infusion of some talent at forward and defence, this team is going nowhere this year, even if it does manage to sneak into the playoffs as there is not the same emotion from last year to self-motivate them.

I like that handle, Yossarian.
Hainsey's on his "off wing", with Dykhuis, of all people. Nice coaching. Take a guy you have no confidence in, and pair him with a rookie playing the right side for the first time since he was in high school....
How about Audette?
Does Therrien keep switching up the lines because nothing's clicking, or is nothing clicking because Therrien keeps switching up the lines?
Bad call on the disallowed goal. Nobody's near the guy who pushes the net off its moorings but you wave off the goal? It had no effect on the play whatsoever. Where's discretion in all this? Net was off its moorings. No goal. Is it that simple?

Unfortunately, it is that simple. The net wasn't sitting flatly on the ice = no goal. The bad part was the non call on Bergevin "accidently " knocking the net off its moorings. There were two positives I can note on the game however: 1- Hainsey getting more ice time. 2- Another nail in MT's coffin!! ;D . Oh and on a side note... the much needed BIG center/forward is still a good possibility if this current streak continues. Man wouldn't Nate Horton or Eric Staal look good in a habs jersey?

Nate Horton, Eric Stall or firing Therian is not going to change the fact it took almost 10 minutes in period 2 before we got a shot. Granted I believe Therian is on his way out, but these guys have to get back to basics. SHOOTING, FORECHECKING,BACKCHECKING AND FINALLY, FINISHING THE PLAY. It does not matter who is on the team or who is coaching, unless they focus on the simplicity of the game, were doomed.

It was a feat just to get the shot off on the spinaround. It's not as though he had a gaping net and hit the metal.

hmmm....Let's see!.... 7 game road trip ... Habs getting less than 14 shots per game...They play well enough not to get blown out of the water, but lose just the same...hmmm Smells like some people want to get someone fired!!! I like that smell!!! ;D

The Hamilton game I saw...Hainsey was playing the right side...in a Canada vs Usa WJC game in 2000-01, Hainsey played the right side. So he has played that position before. Where is the barf bag? Nothing is clicking because he keeps changing them and uses AUDETTE on of one of them. Ditto for the PP. what about a DELAY OF GAME penalty?

You can pretty much take it to the bank the Habs will have the opportunity to draft a big time talent in June. The draft is very deep and plenty of franchise type talents are available. Regardless of if we finish 7th or 10th in the conference.
