The Habs were I think just above 500 as they began their longest roadtrip of the season. That roadtrip proved disastrous as the Habs managed only one win against Calgary and an overtime loss against the Islanders. It really set them back but as we all know they were able to recover partly because of some unbelieveable goaltending by Theo.
Now, the Habs seem to be in a little better position and have more healthy bodies and here's hoping they can at least get 6 out of 14 points. That would probably keep them in the playoff picture and the toughest part of the season will be over. The Habs will have to adjust to the more run and gun style of the west coast teams.

Yup.
We won the last game before x-mas against LA. 2-1. Nothing convincing.
Then...
3-1 loss in Buffalo
3-0 loss in St Louis
6-5 loss on long island(came back from down 5-1...but lost in OT...Perreault and Savage spent half the game on the bench)
5-2 loss in Vancouver
4-2 win in Calgary
7-6 loss in Edmoton(blew a 6-3 lead)
4-2 loss in Minny
and Markov was scratched for almost every game which was freaking me out...lol...
how things have changed....Koivu is back, Gilmour is already playing well, we have Markov emerging into a superstar, ditto for Zednik, Perreault is not stone cold, we are much healthier, etc

What a go Marc. I couldn't remember all the teams we played against. I did remember that awful loss to Edmonton. I thought that was going to haunt the team if they missed the playoffs.

I remember that game against Edmonton well. 6-3, 10 seconds to go in the 2nd...Smyth scored and the floodgates opened.
It was a crazy but very heart breaking game.

Wasn't that when Michaud came in during the 3rd? I remember seeing him on the bench. He made Ribeiro look like a old man. I thought Michaud lied about his age, and was really only 15, cause he looked more like 15, then 18. ;D

That would probably keep them in the playoff picture and the toughest part of the season will be over. 6 out of 14?? I want 8, if not 10. The division is once again wide open, and ready for the taking. Theodore is back, Gilmour is back, Koivu and Perrault are supplying the offense, McKay the muscle, and Therrien hasn't made a major gaff in like a week now. We should beat Pittsburgh and Calgary, we usually play Ottawa tough, and playing in Edmonton is almost like playing a home game anyways. We should, if everything holds up, get 6 out of 8 points right there. If we can come out with one upset win against the Islanders, Devils or Canucks, we will have our 8 of 14, if not more. Course, now that I said it...

Theo was in goal.

Complete Comparision 02-03 34 GP 16-12-4-2= 38pts GF-98 GA-104 01-02 34 GP 15-13-5-1= 36pts GF-88 GA-88 00-01 34 GP 9-21-4-0= 22pts GF-79 GA-101 Now if Theo had of showed up at the beginning of this season who knows how much higher we would be. I feel it's probably worth about 3-6 pts and and from 10-14 GA. Maybe looks more like this: 34GP 18-9-5-2= 43pts GF-102 GA-92. Anyway it's always fun and easy to speculate but seriously this team is better than last year's. I definatly agree that we won't be a contender till our defence is upgraded and Deadwood-Donald is made assistant coach in charge of cleaning the chalk board brushes........with another team because we all know that with MT around he wouldn't have anything to do here

I like when the habs do a western road trip because there are as many habs fans out there then there are home team fans and the habs are on nationally on CBC in the doubleheader with out the dork brothers doing the commentating (Cole and Neale, as if I had to tell you guys).
