FINALLY a blowout. Habs came out like a house on fire and took the early lead to put this Sabre team away. I must say the Sabres played a sh*tty game but we were the much better team out there tonight
The Koivu line was great, the Perreault line was even better, the defence was solid, Theodore was great again and once again we got outshot but it means didly squat!
Great win. Good to dominate at home.

Don't forget Audette. He was sensational -- at least if you listen to those guys on SRC.

Dude, they never said that...all they said was Audi looked more ''energitic''
Audette is becoming a big problem. Too much ice time for what he is giving us.

I honestly think Théodore kept us in the game again tonight. He's come close to two shutouts in a row.
Sure our transittion game looked good, but our defence looked rather lathargic at times. They just stood around.
We took advantage of our chances, yes, but JP Dumont had two excellent chances tonight that could have made the game closer.
On the other hand our PP looked very good tonight. With a little luck the score could have been higher.
Czerkawski's timing looked a little off tonight, but he hasn't played in a while.
Too bad Gilmour didn't see Ribs in the high slot in the third. It would have been nice to see Ribs score one.
What was Karl Dykhuis doing when he muffed that goal? I can hear Apu saying right now, ".... what were you thinking man!!!"
Cheers.

Norm Milley played probably the worst game I have ever seen at the NHL level. His passing makes Briesbois look like Mario Lemieux and he took a real bonehead penalty. All I can say is HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Thank God he isn't a Hab. ;D This dude is so bad that he sucks and blows at the same time. The worst thing is....Lindy Ruff kept giving him ice time. Gotta love it when someone is so bad he makes Therrien look like Scotty freakin' Bowman. I LOVE IT. ;D

Outshot 2 - 1 again. Actually more than 2 - 1. Love the score but concerned.

all our good players came to play and when that happens we're pretty tough. Saku was great and boy can he turn on a dime. Zed is just overpowering. As nice a move he made on his goal i thought his play earlier on a one on one when he had the D going every which way was unbelievable. A nice save kept it from being a goal. Yanic and Gilmour are playing with unbelievable confidence and Mckay is playing his big role perfectly. He was good on the pk as well.
Markov just keeps amazing me. even when he's out of position or gets beat he's able to recover. When he's out there I'm always comfortable.
But the most pleasant surprise of the night was Cz. I thought he played his best game this season. He was engaged, skating, passing ( great set up on gilmour's first). he even through a hit. I tell you if this guy ever gets going we will have a pretty fierce team. Did anyone notice in the 3rd that MT had all his under-achieving offensive forwards on together ( Cz, Aud, and Ribbs)? Too bad they didn't score - would have been interesting how all the whiners would have congratulated each other.
Aud continues to be the weakest link. He may have had a little more enthusiasm but that's easy in a blow out. But he continues to make a bad play either by not getting the pass or shot away or making the wrong pass. no doubt in my mind that Cz will be much more help to this team than Aud. I also notice that after Cz played so well that MT rewarded him with some 4th line duty in the 3rd. No wonder the guy is confused.
Anyone hear Gilmour's comment after the game that the reason he is playing better is that he is getting more ice time? He did say the guy's behind the bench know what they're doing but i had the impression he threw that in there to avoid the comment being an outright criticism of how he was being used.

Outshot 2 - 1 again. Actually more than 2 - 1. Love the score but concerned. HfiLA, I'd bet most teams are going to get outshot by a wide margin once you take a 5-0 lead in the first 25 minutes or so on your first 10 shots. the winning team should rightly focus on defense, and the losing team needs to throw every shot it can on net, praying for a whole lot of luck. Not that being outshot most every game isn't a real concern with this team, but, IMO, tonight they deserve a pass on it, they really should have been outshot in this one.

Hi guys. Great win by the Habs!! I love it when the Sabres are blown out of the water like that. I dislike the Sabres more than any other team in the NHL, and considering there are a couple of other teams I really detest, that is saying alot when I say I detest the Sabres the most.

That's why it seems the losing team always outshoots the winning team in the NHL. I also thought Czerk played his best game of the season tonight. He was motivated, showed some nice stick work, etc Nice to have the luxury of just plugging a guy like that into the lineup! The only thing that can slow Zed down is getting knocked out because his head is down looking at the puck. Man what a combo of speed/strength. I think Garbo will have something to say about Vinna's ''Milley sucks'' comment ;D

Wow, impressive win. Solid game by most. Theo just might have won this game for us in the first with many good saves. The Sabers were taking way too many lazy dumb penalities, and our PP looked good. Damn Perreault's line is on fire, him and Gilmor are lighting it up now. Perreault has gone from a team worst -7 to -1 now I believe. Chow seemd to play better, but Audette, Ribs, Blouin and Dykhuis were either doing nothing or in Dykhuis's case not having a good game. Theo in his last 3 games before tonight, was 3-0 with a .965 save % and a 1.5 GAA. Maybe he really is turning it around. To bad no team needs Hackett and Audette, for a pick, cause that would take 6.6M off the books.

I am only defending him b/c when he was in Sudbury playing for the Wolves he was the MAN.

FIGURES!!!! i have to miss the game and it turns out the be the first blow out of the year, man am i choked! 5-0 at one point , that's wicked! hopefully we can carry this momentum to the islanders game and show dipietro what the habs are all about (or who ever else plays for them) missing the habs game wasn't a total loss though, my team won 6-3, no goals for me, but a hefty 3 assists on the scoresheet.

I don't know if I can agree that it was a great game guys. I mean being out shot like that and watching Théodore hold the fort was kind of unnerving at times. And he made some real beauts tonight.
Other than our goaltending I thought another positive was our transittion game. We cashed in when we had our chances and that alone is a positive. How many two-on-nones or three-on-nones have we seen this team flub at one time or another?
However, no one came to Markov's rescue and the third Sabre goal was waived off only because the Buffalo player ran interference on Théodore. Who went to José's defense? Not one player!
I thought they played well when they had to, but like a lot of other nights le club decided to try and give a sucker a second chance. When you're up like that you can't stand around and watch your goaltender; you have to play the same game.
I'll take the two points, guys, don't get me wrong, and when you score many more goals than the other team you deserve to win. But, I didn't turn the TV off with a warm, fuzzy feeling that we played to what the score indicated. Oh well ...
Cheers.

That really pissed me off as well...no need for a fight...just a glove in the face of that player or stuff like that. The Habs are quickly gaining a ''push em around they won't defend themselves'' reputation around the league. Something must be done.

what makes that win evern sweeter is that the Bruins had a 3-1 lead on home ice, against a tired Pantehrs team, with ONE minute to go and after 60 minutes it was tied at 3. Florida scored the game tying goal with a second left.
LOL. Even the Habs can't blow a lead that way!

My mistake Marc, I apologize. I still think they're high on Audette, and I didn't see any reason for them to be. You're right -- he got decent ice time (and PP time too) and still didn't look dangerous once. He deserves the press box, and Chow deserves a chance to play.
But Kilger is looking pretty good to me on that first line no?

I swear they only said Audette was showing more energy these days... and yes Kilger should stay on that top line...Zednik and Koivu want him on it and Chad is showing decent finish when he plays on it. I really like the way the 2 top lines are coming along. One is as fast as hell(Koivu's) the other one is slower(Perreault's) but each line has playmaking(Koivu and Gilmour), grinding/big bodies(Mac and Kilger) and scoring(Zed and Perreault) on it. Kudos to MT for putting them together.

The D was still horrible IMO. One bonehead play after another and no roughness at all. I can't believe Savard is attempting to go through this season with that friggin' defense untouched...
With the offense we can provideand the star goaltending we can provide, if we had an OK defense we'd be set to be a contender in the East...

I didn't see the game. My favorite part about this win, however, was the following quote by Sabres backup, Mika Noronen: "It was like when I have a nightmare and I can't put my glove on the puck or stop anything, only I never woke up,'' Source: sports.espn.go.com/nhl/recap?gameId=221221010

Agree with Doc...The defense is in dire need of help. Jacques Demers went on Sattelite Hot Stove and confirmed that the HABS where looking for a defenseman. Do you think they have been reading my posts? IT'S ABOUT TIME!
