Reffing

Can someone explain to me what these bozos are watching. Night after night, we see complete nincompoopeness. That's a word right? Well it is now. I just can't believe how inept these guys are. We now have 4 officials on the ice and the reffing seems to be worse than ever. Now I know that this is a fast game, and things happen in a split second but come on, this is a joke. Roenick runs over Svehla while he was deciding how to tie his skate laces, and gets a major. For what? It was a completely clean open ice hit. Elbows weren't high and it certainly wasn't a charge. Markov almost has pine surgery on his eyeballs, and nothing. Today watching the Ott-Phi game, Fishcher leaves his feet and drives Fedoruk's head into the glass. Fed turns around and smacks him on the back of the toque and gets 2 minutes. Meanwhile he's bleeding all over the bloody refs as he leaves the ice. You should have seen the blood. He's was losing it at a litre a minute. Unbelievable. I guess I shouldn't be surprised when Andy VanHelle DUMBis running the show. This guy was easily the worst ref I've seen in my lifetime. Of course that's good for a promotion Campbell is a bozo as well. If something ever reaches his office, there has to be a near death experience for a suspension.

I think a lot of it has to do with the two referee system. On most of the games I see, the pairing is a veteran referee with someone you have never heard of. May be the younger guys are afraid to show up the vets.
The 2 ref system also means that there are inexperienced officials in the NHL. Just as the 30 team league has diluted the talent pool of players, it has also diluted the pool of referees.

Can someone explain to me what these bozos are watching. Night after night, we see complete nincompoopeness. That's a word right? Yep. That's right up there with "Cannonading drive." If it's frustrating for us imagine what the players have to be thinking. You can handle it if the ref is consistently tight, or consistently loose with his calls. But during some games, you just don't know when these guys are going to call a penalty. Given his reputation, I also think Varada knew what he was doing when he went knee-on-knee with Markov. That wasn't called either. Bad Company pointed out several instances over the past few games where Markov has been a target. If nothing else I guess it proves that we do have a talented player other teams are leary of. Doesn't make it right though. Cheers.
