It looks like 90% that I am going this Saturday for another game. Hopefully, this time it will not be a waste of time and the game will be close and hard fought.
There are those who think that a powerhouse team gives the kids confidence. I say I like to see a middle of the road team that has to struggle every night and needs to get better to succeed. After all, the point is to make NHLers out of prospects, not win some insignificant cup.
Is there anyone else interested in going?

What?
you would rather see AHL hockey instead of our beloved Habs duke it out with the exciting Sabres?
Shame on you..............

I'll be in Ottawa Saturday. You've heard of me talking, ahem, bragging about my niece Sara and her basketball exploits. Well, her brother, John, is playing club ball now at the age of 13. We're going to see him play in Kanata tomorrow.
Should be good, but keep posting those AHL games nonetheless, HA. Cheers.

if it's not too much of an imposition, I would appreciate it if the people who are going to this game could report on
1. Plekanec - how solid is he on the puck - easily knocked off? How is his defensive play, in his own zone and otherwise? How is he on faceoffs (Perrault replacement?)? I notice his plus/minus is only plus 7 on a team which has 122 goals for and 66 against, and he's way down the list. Does it look as if his reported weight is correct or exagerrated, or does he seem to lack strength?
2. Hossa - how is his physical play? We've had bad reports, but I wonder how he compares to players with some skill who are successful and useful in the NHL? I see he has the second best plus-minus on the Bulldogs, probably a better indicator on a team with such a colossal goal margin than the absolute figure.
I recall that Hossa scored three goals in 10 games when he was up last year, played hurt part of the time, and had two goals in his first two games(?). This sounds promising although it's not much of a statistical base.
In general how ready for the NHL do these players look, and do they look capable of the necessary development?
By the way, this is my first post, I have read the code of conduct, and I like the site policies.

Welcome to the board oldhabsfan. If you have come in our site before then you will know that we ARE different. Dare I say even better then most. (all:)) I am going with some others tonight and my focus has always been players who are closest to joining the big club. If Hainsey is not playing, then I will focus on Ward and Hossa. Pleks is at least a year or two away. Watch for the Hamilton Scouting Report 3 on Sunday. Later *A bottle of warm beer...........
