For all you fans who have yet to see this documentary on the teams seventy fifth anniversary it was made in 1985 by astral video and goes through the great's from Aurel Joliat up to Guy Lafleur. It has great footage from the richard riots in it and excellent commentary from the rocket himself. I watched it this afternoon and reminisced but am saddened at today's state of affairs. I really think that the great tradition ended after lafleur there has been noo truly superior forward in our city that has carried the torch as Lafleur Beliveau Richard and the many before him did. Saku has been admirable in the effort but things just are not as they once we're. I guess i should dtop thinking about the past and accept the present but it isn't easy. GO HABS GO Viper.

In a way, I thank the lord for not being born 10 years earlier so I don't have to compare back then with now...

Yes it is good, I have it on tape. Where Joliat is out skating on the canal and falls. To me its great for the younger people who never saw anything like those great to greatest teams iced regularly. I also have Berezin scoring the 10,000 goal against the SJ on tape (well 2 periods), and Hackett's last game against boston when he hurt his shoulder (don't know why I have that) and Hainsey's AHL allstar game, and Komisarek's NCAA final four (his last game at UM). ;D

My wife threw out some "old tapes" which included the Boston Series of '71. That send me into a funk real quick.
The next morning, she was wondering why she found the Yellow Pages on the kitchen table opened to the open "Funeral Home" section. Just to reinforce that Pavlovian training, the tapes are marked "Death will come upon any who touch these tapes".
In fact, I was one of the first people to own a VCR in Montreal. Cost me $1200 in late 70's dollars. Probably something like $4000 in today money.
If anyone has that series, I would sure love to have it again.
