Looks like for a 5th the Canes are hurting with Cole out so a pretty cheap deal.

That is cheap. Is Carter a UFA this year? Cole has been such a thorn in our side. Why not send Cole as futures to Columbus. Then we don't have to play him because he's always in the lineup against us!:lol:

Carter is a proven 30 goal scorer. I would rather have him over Samsonov, as they're both right-handed shots.

Carter is a proven 30 goal scorer. I would rather have him over Samsonov, as they're both right-handed shots. Actually he has scored 30 in a season only once & that was last year with the Sedins. He has become quite the journeyman - he is now on his 8th team - yikes. |

I don't get this, if I had Carter I'd at least wait for the deadline if I didn't have any kind of an interesting offer; a 5th round pick is little more than a bag of pucks...
