after he made another rookie like mistake on the 3rd goal, he was on the bench for most of the 3rd...get Hainsey or Bouillon up and bench Dykhuis. They can't be worse right now.
Even Traverse has more qualities than Dykhuis.

we need a trade, there's 3 useless d men right now! traverse, quintal, and dykhuis. Bring up Hainsey and Bouillon to give em a scare, but we still need another d man, Komi's not ready.

Yea Dykhuis is struggling if you ask me. Did anyone see him on the first play off the game, there was a turnover, and he was next to Brezzy, it looked like they were holding hands he was so close to him, and what do you know, Kovy wide open all alone, but Theo made the save, and the he just gave Dykhuis a funny look. I think Dykhuis and Quintal are fighting to see who can be the worst D man on the team. Rivet can't pass, Quintal looks lost out there, and Dykhuis has his head up his ass. And Traverse is just Traverse, a 7th defencemen that is playing as a 5th or 6th. Our defence and PK are scary. Rick Green and Guy Charron need to go back to the drawing board, cause both D and PK look ugly out there.

Most coaches couldn't do anything with this D
4 pylons who can't past and only 2 guys who do anything with the puck..we know the names...

How about Green next line he utters, "I USE to coach in the NHL, but no more". It befuddles me as to why AS expects Green to teach defenseman their trade because he was never that good himself. Is this some perverse experiment to see if he can pass on his mediocre playing career by teaching other to be as “good” as him? Things that I can never understand if I’m sober………………….

Has quintal been benched for his inadequacies even for a period Traverse got put right back out the next shift after bumbling up during the PP ( a place the guy shouldn't be in the first place) causin a new jersey goal. Dykhuis well it's been covered in this thread already. Hainsey belongs here and should have been shown the same confidence by the coaching staff that the Veteran butheads have been getting. The biggest reason Hainsey came back so tentative and cautious after his benching(one he didn't deserve) is becasue he new he was walking on glass which was bogus in the first place. Bring him up use him often and if he makes a mistake then pat him on the back tell him it's ok just don't let it happen again and throw him out there again. Build up your youngster's through positive reinforcement. Don't scold them when it's obvious the vet's who should know better are making more severe mistakes.

Well I'd leave Hainsey down on the farm where he belongs. He's played 1 year as a pro and it showed. No excuses, he didn't play well, so he went down, cause he can. He's on a 2 way contract, and he can be sent down without clearing waivers. Hainsey will be back at some point, and he will be a good one. Quintal isn't making so many bad plays, but its more he is just too slow, and seems to be a step behind. He does look bad out there though. Dykhuis is the one who's really struggling, IMO. His positioning was bad tonight, he's been taking some dumb pims, and his off the boards passing is hurting the team. Therrien or Green did seem to bench Dykhuis in the 3rd, and I know Therrien benched Dykhuis last year. He can skate so well, but just has too many mental mistakes, and very bad passing. As for the Traverse play, well he was unlucky on one of the several 2-1's we gave up. He knocked down the pass, but it bounced away from him right onto a devils stick, and away they went. He better check his blades though, cause its 2 games in a row where he fell down.

Maybe time to use Petrov and Dykhuis or traverse for an agressive Dman who doesnt mind playing physical and maybe can skate a little!

I know there was some talk about Ference being looked at but I would like to see them make a pitch for Dmitry Yushkevich on the Panthers.
His down side is salary and he is unrestricted at the end of the year but he would certainly help clear the net and block shots better then who is there now and would make a big physical impact once Souray is healthy.

I just love this subject:) If Dykhuis isn't on the bubble, he should be. He is soft, has poor upper body strength, poor puckhandling skills and very poor hockey sense. That he was a +16 last year is either the biggest statistical anomaly in sports or the +/- stat means virtually nothing. It would appear that the only strategy in his vast arsenal is slapping the puck around the boards to no one. He invariably ices the puck or puts it on the stick of an opposing player. When Souray gets back I would sit this guy over even Traverse or better yet, promote Hainsey and trade Dykhuis as a throw-in to a Hackett or Petrov deal. He is a liability out there.

KR I think Breezy had alot to do with that +16(believe it or not). Brisebois has really stabilized on 5 on 5's...
