According to RDS, Gary Roberts has been traded but since it is not to the Leafs, nor the Sens, the deal is pending on Roberts lifting his no-trade clause.

IMO he'd be stupid to turn this chance down. As a veteran still capable of playing well, it would be a great chance to play with some of the next wave of superstars on a team that has a chance to do well in the playoffs.

I think it would be stupid too. It's only for a few months so why is he being so stubborn? TSN says Toronto is offering a 2nd, a 4th & a player ( Bell or Kronwall). Ferguson hasn't learned his lesson from the pre-lockout days. That's too much for a 40 year old UFA.

Supposedly, the best offer has come from Pittsburgh. I don't know why Roberts wants to play for Toronto; they're not going anywhere. Ottawa has a better shot at a cup. Pittsburgh would really benefit from this; Roberts is being ignorant.

I hope he goes to Toronto do they actually think their that close? They are as marginal as the Habs and some could argue less so. If they want to continue to mortgage what future they have I say go for it. Roberts has a daughter here thats why he's been looking to come back even before the season started.

The rumour is that Pittsburgh is offering just a one-for-one player swap...
Noah Welch for Gary Roberts.
