They were replaying the infamous Good Friday Brawl game, between the Habs and Nordiques last night on RDS - old time hockey! Fun to watch, if only to see the old names. One thing that really stood out, was just how badly Montreal misjudged Chris Chelios. Man, you could see he was going to be good. Great skater, dirty, physical - pairing him with Larry Robinson was a stroke of genius. The other thing that stood out (aside from the brawls of course), was how when Dale Hunter accidently hit Steve Penny, all FIVE Montreal Canadiens on the ice jumped him. All FIVE. Man, could we have used that the last couple of years...

Yes great game. Chelios got to learn from Big Bird...and Komo gets to learn from Traverse and Dykhuis...seems fair lol damn that game was wild...and a major choke job by the Nords is always nice

There were more than a few good games in the "Battle for Quebec."
I didn't see this particular game but it does bring back memories for sure. Huff's disallowed goal that would have sealed the game for the Nords. Instead, Bob Gainey scores on the very next rush up ice. Michel Bergeron went into a fit after that one.
Louis Slegher's cold-cocking of Jean Hamel. Hamel had turned his head slightly after being distracted by Mario Tremblay then BAM! Career over.
Peter Stasney's series-winning goal that broke my very fibre.
Like I was saying, I didn't see that particular game, but the Battle for Quebec was by far one of the hottest tickets in town. On the other side of the country it was the Battle for Alberta.
Cheers.
