By AL STRACHAN -- Toronto Sun Their nicknames told the story. Maurice Richard was the Rocket, mercurial, impulsive, explosive. Jean Beliveau was Le Gros Bill, the big guy, the leader, the true statesman. In their playing days, with a Montreal Canadiens team that defined excellence in its era, both were idolized. And justifiably so. The Rocket was the man who provided the timely scoring feats that led Les Glorieux to their perennial Stanley Cup run. Le Gros Bill was the man who was more reliable, more steady, more aloof -- but the man to turn to when there were problems to be rectified. - slam.canoe.ca/Slam031020/col_strachan-sun.html
