Obviuously after last nights disappointment we are more than a little upset. But is it possible that making the playoffs possibly could set us back. Jose Theodore is this team plain and simple we have so many deficiences its tough to list them all.We discussed what this team would be like once healty, better yes but not good enough. If the Habs make the playoffs can Savard make the tough decisions and not be masked by making the playoffs, god forgive us if Theo steals a round.I'm not bandwagon jumping beleive the bags under my eyes this morning tell you I want this team to make the playoffs but I also want them to identify the ares we are lacking.Honestly I think several players and popular ones have to be replaced for this team to take the next step maybe not all at one time but gone nonetheless. If you want a list here it goes lets start the controversy.Petrov,Gilmour(tough, though if he wants to play that last year he is one of my last cuts)Juneau,Berezin,Robidas,Bouillon,Odjick,Hackett,Lindsay maybe one more D though they are hard to come by.Brisebois ain't going nowhere unless the Rangers are interested.Go ahead take my head off let me know what you think I know you guys will.Want to to add more go ahead. How could I forget Patrick Travesty! We didn't have the assets Phoenix had but they are playing with kids and a big time goalie and look where they are in one year. The vets are allowing 40 shots why cant Hossa Choiunard and the like do the same. I can't stop shaking my noggin I would of said head but I know how you guys think! HFTO

You're right about making cuts HFTO, but I think you should consider a more intellegence, surgical procedure rather than your cut and burn policy.
Here's my thoughts-
Cuts: THERRIEN Odjick Traverse Boullion Fiset Robidas
On The Bubble: Perrault Berezin Quintal Kilger Hackett (if we can get a return)
That's enough that we get enough air for the prospects we've got tearing up the AHL. They get up, we play next year at a much better level, wait for more of our prospects to mature, at which point we'd make some more cuts and make more air.
Careful pruning. Not reckless cutting. Like a bansai tree...

Get rid of:
Gilmour(he will retire) Berezin Odjick Van Allen Lindsay Quintal Traverse Bouillon Robidas Hackett
Talk about cutting the dead wood!!!
In there place? Garon, Hainsey, Hossa, Bélanger, Ward and solid pickups who would cost not much at all.Guys who are still young(25-27 years old) but have never had the chance to become good NHL players.Guys who could be had for nothing.Jarkko Ruutu is a guy I like, he could be available for nothing, Jesse Wallin will never get his chance in Detroit, go after him, SJ has a kid named Mark Smith, he is a healthy scratch almost every game because they are so deep...he is a guy with some speed and he can kill penalties, he can replace Van Allen, etc.Edmonton has Shawn Horcoff in the minors and Josh Green in the pressbox...they won't be stars, but they are still young enough to become solid 2nd line players....
Guys who would cost alot less, would do the same job(and probably a better one) and they would give us hope for the future...

I really like Mark. I love his fights. He doesn't fight often but when he does, he wins. Mark is getting a little more ice time right now. It seems to go in streaks for him, but whenever he does play he is good. He doesn't seem to ever get rusty. Mark is liked by the fans and the team. Anything is possible. SJ could let him go, but I'm not sure they will. I think it would be SJ's loss if they did let Mark go. I guess you guys can tell which players in SJ I really like by the way I talk about them.

I play with the Sharks on NHL 2002 and Mark Smith has been excellent for my team.He has great speed(is this true?) and is a great PKer and faceoff man( again is this correct, pam?) I have also read he plays with great drive and emotion...we need players like that.I could see him replacing Juneau on the 3rd line down the road.

By the way, Pam, what do you think of Brad Stuart?
I have this friend who loves this kid...saying he is the next Rob Blake et all.
I haven't see the Sharks alot this year(only on HNIC) and the game against Vancouver about 3 weeks ago...Stuart was awesome!
