I never watched the game last night as we when dancing. I set the VCR however, but after reading that report I don't think I will bother watching.
I thought Theodore looked tired after the Tampa game. We've played a compacted schedule and usually give up a lot of shots. It's too much to expect one man to care the load like that. It's more of a deterent to the team to play the living day likes out of him.
What is your opinion on how Fiset played? And, if sitting Berezin out in Tampa improved the much maligned Russian? I think Therrien is trying to tell him there is two ends of a hockey rink

as bad as the game was, it was rather interesting to have zero play by play, just the game sounds as the result of the SRC strike/lockout. I got a good laugh hearing the rink announcer explain every stoppage of play after they happened. "Offside" "Penalty"...classic!

I watched some of the game last night. I get what Phil is trying to say. Shows how bad the Habs are when Theo doesn't bring his "Super Natural" talents to the game every night.
Fiset seemed to fight the puck. Looked like his problem was timing. But that could be expected, its been along while since he played in the NHL. Quite a difference in quickness between the AHL and NHL. Timing is all-important for a goalie. Remember how bad Theodore played at the start of 2000 when he missed camp due to a contract holdout? Corey Scwab also...he put in a few bad games when CuJo first when down before he regain his composure.
Berezin - I think his defensive liabilities is just something you have to put up with if you trade for players like him. There is no sense in benching him. It's sort of like Audette going to Dallas. There is just no way you can change the player. At 31, and 6-7 years experience in the league it is just how he plays. He can only play in one end of the rink and that is his talent. If you want him on the team you have to accept it

I agree on Berezin. Of course the other side of the coin is that he has to score to offset his defensive liabilities. If he doesn't score then you can't afford to carry him as all he's doing is hurting your team. I can see Savard not resigning the guy for next year if he doesn't produce down the stretch. It'd save another pick going to Phoenix plus if anybody signed him we'd get a mid round pick in return from the League.
