Just caught that on RDS,
Questioned about Berezin's play, Therrien was vague trying to elude the question and finally said: "…He's a scorer but he doesn't score. He tries to do other things but it doesn't work….". On the same subject, Savard said: "...He's not having a good season. He's always been prone to giveaways, but there's gotta be a limit. At least before he would score to offset that…"
I don't see a big future in Montreal for the enigmatic Russian.
The Perreault/Berezin combo wasn't working too well in TO and isn't working all that better in Montreal. Asham will be away for the next 2 games so Bulis will be back in the lineup. If Jan can pick up his game while Berezin continues to offer his spotty performances, Sergei could be the next one in the stands when Asham comes back. I'd have no problem with that.

About time...He looks nothing like he did in his monster 1998-99 season.Get rid of him...save the $, keep the pick and give the ice time to someone else.
Where is Asham going?

Well, it was bound to happen, Pete. Berezin isn't a Donald Audette, but I'll be honest with you in that I can wait a little longer with him (I said a little longer). The fact is, that's all we have left in the season; a little longer. Do we dump him for a younger set of legs and claim defeat? Or, do we try him with Gilmour once Audette gets back? Afterall, Audette was playing well with Perreault up until he was injured. I'd try Berezin with another combo if only to try and bring him around. Honestly though, I think we can get some more mileage out of Sergei, but I also feel you're right insomuch as his tenure will be short. The bright side is we won't have to pay him much longer if he ends up leaving. The downside is that we won't get much for him when he does leave unless he's part of a package deal. Here's to Audette's return. We're going to need all hands on deck to make the post-season. New York just pounded Ottawa tonight. Cheers.

Funny DIS, I was reading Savard's comment on Berezin and 4 words appeared in my mind: Sushi-eating-mama's-boy...
Andre doesn't like the type...
Not sure what I'd do with Berezin this year... dump is very tempting ;D When Audette comes back I just can't see Hossa being sent down so Berezin can continue floating around on our first 2 lines... And if Saku comes back well we'll have Berezin AND Perreault to figure out... Interesting depth situation.
