Thanks for posting this. It choked me up and brought tears to my eyes. I've always liked Koivu and was shocked when I heard of his cancer last September. I heard that Leafs and Habs game on the Internet. The applause at Molson Centre was really fantastic. Vinny was Captain of the Habs when I became a Leafs fan, but I liked the Habs too. Vinny and Saku were the Habs to me. With Vinny being traded to San Jose, Saku was the Habs to me. He represented all that was great about the Habs.
When I was in Montreal in January for the Sharks and Habs game, I went to the autograph area after the game. I had purchased the Habs Calendar at Saturday's game. I saw Saku coming down the stairs on Sunday afternoon. We all started cheering for him. He started at the beginning of the autograph line and signed for all of us. Saku's picture is in that calendar. When he got to me, I said "it is so good to see you back." He smiled and said thank you as he signed his picture in the calendar. I had been saying many prayers for Saku and I'm very happy to see him back. I wish him all the best and I hope he can be back with the team very shortly.

I found them to be insightful and touching articles. They should introduce a new category in the hall of fame for doctors, cause Dr. Mulder is an amazing man. It strikes me as ironic that while millions of people are dying from cancer, the doctors that treat them make peanuts compared to what professional athletes are payed.
Saku is a great role model, however. His story serves as inspiration to anyone facing a tough battle, be it physical or emotional. While athletes may be overpayed, if a player like Koivu can teach, motivate, and give hope to people, then perhaps it's worth it.
It's great to see that while the Habs may have suffered in the standings, they've remained one of the classiest organizations in the league. From Gillette, who chartered a private jet for Koivu, to Mulder, to Koivu, the team has some great leaders.
