Maybe a 8th or 9th round pick or so. Certainly, not a third or fourth round pick. How many teams are going to be beating down Juneau's door as an UFA? He's a fourth line center asking 2.5 million. Andre would never deal a high pick for a UFA fourth liner in two weeks

Newly-acquired Stephane Fiset has a option for next year, which Savard will clearly not exercise.  Shayne Corson, too, had a club option for $4 million which was not exercised.  This leads me to believe that even when a player becomes a free agent as a result of the team not picking up their option year, that team still gets compensation if the player departs as a free agent.  

My other understand on this matter is that compensation is based on salary..  Fiset makes a decent salary.  Does this mean we'll get an extra 4th or 5th rounder out of the deal when Savard lets him go this summer?
